Fwiw,
My sweetie bought a Tesla 3. It's 200-ish mile range recharges at home for about 6$. Free charging at dozens of locations. ( Obviously not free, at least I dont directly pay for it.) When feeling like a sketchy freeloader, A couple free chargers are easy walk from home.
Its a great car...
I plug into my trailer connector. It has a 24hr 12V pin.
Fwiw, I use a dumb charger connected to a timer, it switches on 15 min per day. Its only been used a few times over the past year when I have to be gone several weeks.
Btw,
Also ran a SO cable back there so the Block Heater plugs in there...
No detriments aside from losing memory settings each time switched off.
You're better off installing a hidden switch what shuts off one or more vital functions.
Said that...
If you want to install a battery switch. It probably work installing a battery disconnect along with a high wattage...
That ID is a plastics identifier.
A recycle code in other words. PA66 being one of the forms of nylon.
Btw.
While it should be obvious.
Loads of people mistake that as a part number. Especially when the ">PA66<" is followed up like this common example >PA66 GF30<.
The "GF30" indicates 30% glass...
Dont forget electric vehicles use Kinetic Energy Recovery.
They'll have more braking capacity than a equivalent conventional braked vehicle.
if driven carefully, driver seldom needs to use the brakes.
Fwiw.
My other trucks get Buckshot Radial Mudder, Open Country (or anything what had the word "Country" could work)
Using one of those white pens and some black paint, along with careful 'penmanship' would alter by blacking out and/or adding white as needed to change one or two letters to...
F150 is just too big for my daily driver.
I really preferred a extend cab compact truck, but nobody makes that size any more. Ranger was the closest thing to what I want. It's reputation and decent pricetag is good incentive too.
Fwiw,
Deka battery has won my favor. Primarily for customer service and variety available right on hand.
Quality wise, none I ever had failed prematurely.
Average 9 years on their maintenance free series. That's not really at failure either.
Just out of prudence. And load testing noting the...
As weather improves, I'll be taking my mirrors apart to see what I can do to add heating. I've dozens of various 12V silicon heating pads, I'm sure I can add heating. I've done it on many other vehicles.
If it turns out, I'll post a story.
An old school method is connect the negative of the sidemarker bulb to the positive of the turn bulb.
That was a common factory GM thing for 20+ years.
I used to modify my fleet of about fifty 1980s Econolines to this wiring scheme.
As far as Rangers...
Offhand, I dunno how it might work on...
My fleet management job and personal experience directs me to Toyota or Ford as my only considerations for a pickup that I buy for myself.
This truck, I wanted 4x2 gasser extended cab.
Would have preferred a compact truck but nobody offers that size any more.
So comparing Toyota to Ford of...
Albeit expensive, Those are great traps !
I've been building various lethal and non lethal traps for years.
The most fun use a electronic sensor to activate motor.
the motor is either a vacuum cleaner to suck the mouse into a chamber or a blender which is modified that the rat must crawl past...
Fwiw,
Before getting too deep into transfer switches...
Maybe tell us what specific generator you have.
From this info, I suspect you have an inverter generator. 120 volt only.
While that can still work, it can substantially complicate connecting to a loadcenter.
If you want generator to connect...
Tailgate damper and plastic tray what fits center console.
Be aware, That plastic tray doesn't let the cover close without a slight press to get latched. Its really insignifigant, and havent bothered to see if the latch can adjust.
I've got a Smart Cap topper ordered, It'll be some weeks...
Another option...
Does the house normally heat with a gas or oil furnace ?
If so, set up the furnace to run from the generator. It'll use far less capacity of your generator thus longer runtime per tank.
You could also run the freezer and microwave so they can at least eat something and hot...
I've always used sand filled into tractor innertubes.
essentially big sausages about 75kg each.
I'd built a simple lumber frame to keep them centered over axel.
Don't forget Toyota Publica. I expect other Japanese manufacturers made pickup version of at least one of their sedans models.
When I lived in Ivory Coast we had a Toyota Publica. I think Mazda made a similar truck too.
One easy method is to wire up your aux lights, relay and switch as one normally would do it.
Connect another relay what follows the highbeams. In other words, when the highbeams are on, that relay is energised. When highbeams off, that relay is not energised.
Using that relay, its contacs...
