I am 5’9” and the ranger is definitely comfortable to sit in. My buddy has the 16’ Tacoma which I have driven. The high floor cabin does not go well with dangling the legs and comfort. And the seat is not power?
the new ones come optional with a 8 way power drivers seat!
His transmission is...
Being a Toyota, I’m sure all the kinks have been worked out to make it a reliable car. I do like the multiport injection like the f150 has. I just don’t like that huge of a truck. The engine of a Toyota has been tuned to be underpowered. They have tunes for everything nowadays on the market if...
The manual
The ranger has wayyyyy much more torque, the Tacoma’s not even in the same ballpark as the ranger with the FP tune I’d say.
The manual transmission has a 4.30 axle ratio. So driving it would be much easier. The auto has a 3.9 or something.
I feel like selling my truck. It’s a Great truck with great power. I love the styling. I loved this truck to the moon until it started to have issues…
That being said, first for the ac was making weird clunking sounds from behind the dash when turning the HVAC on/off. Sounded like a blend door...
They fricking amazing. My front right tire drove over a 4” curb by accident after installing and it felt like it handled really well. I set mine to the center ring. I have the old man emu nitro shocks in the rear. Before with the stock shocks it would have shot me out of my seat hitting the curb. .
Thanks for the feedback and info. I’m sorry to hear about the assembly line job grrr. I got a Thursday truck so the guy probably drank the night before ? One of my buddies just got his falcon 64’. It’s way too cool of a car. 2 drive gears lol. I asked if he had any leaks and he said no!
I had a 98 f150 single cab and it also had the leaking rear window seal ? I’m sure it started to leak after 6 years after purchase if I remember. When I took it over from my father I used silicone to seal it up. That was one of fhe leak sources, the other was from the rear bed being smashed into...
I don’t want them to have to drop the transmission in order to access the drain port. This is the first time I’ve noticed it in 2 years of owning the truck. The smell I always thought was from my wet dog in the back seat cage.
My concerns about what you said with the door seal, the drivers side door sticks out slightly at the bottom. I can actually push it into proper position with my hand.
Probably the source honestly.
I found my drivers side foot pan and a small part of the drivers side rear seat carpet drenched in water the other day. After a stormy few days.
pics below. It was about 1/2” water inside the lower door panel. I took it off to explore the issue.
contacted the dealer I bought it from(sound...
I glad they gave you a loaner in that time lost with the truck for warranty work. I took my truck in when I was having clicking noises from the center dash and they could not replicate it. It has not occurred in over 5 months now…
This is an infamous ford issue. I hate plastic hard parts...
Where is the actuator located on your ranger? Behind the dash by the shifter? What symptoms did it cause?
With the blend door: I was having noise (clanking plastic noise while it opens and closes) for a bit when I ran they air really hot. Only when turning off/on.
I learned keeping it below...
I remember replaced the front shocks on my old F-150, with torsion bars. The steering wheel was almost dead center after replacing them. To get that done all I had to do was remove the sway bar end link on both sides… jacking it up the right way is key to when you install the new shocks in...
