Lol they really are. Good catch.
I was a little bummed when the dealership listing said I had 18s. I don't want them. I want 17s. Gimme all the sidewall.
Yeah it's weird. I towed up over Eisenhower Pass West of Denver and had no issues. I also didn't use the cruise control. It honestly only EVER happen while on cruise control.
I was somewhere West of Laramie, Wyoming when it happened the first time. I was tooling along at 70mph with the cruise...
I had to replace my rear pads at 70,000ish miles. I blame the hill-start assist. I got Motorcraft. The truck stops just fine. I don't need a racecar, I have racebike and my fun street car. It's a truck, it'll stop.
And JFC the rear brake job sucks on this truck. So fiddly... Rent the tool for...

My maths say 175 pounds of difference between myself and Ranger_Rocks and 222 pounds from BlackRanger01. Basically one human, and about what I expected.
Ok I have the 5star with a BullyDog. I think the other thread I saw had both stock and tuned trucks, but it definitely seems to be that more tuned trucks are having the issue.
I also have an intercooler upgrade and the first time I got the CEL was after install of it, but that was like 2000...
Given I don't have a scale handy (nor will I) I would think that both of our trucks have the same GVWR which would mean that the difference in payload capacity should indicate the difference in vehicle wight. A quick google says that the GVWR is 6050 pounds. If we hold GVWR constant then the...
Being an XL will make your truck lighter. Less stuff. Especially compared to a Lariat. I haven't read this whole thread but I would love to find a fully loaded SCab to compare weights with my SCrew.
I think this is an idea I will emulate. I used to have that cheap-o bluetooth scan tool from amazon and use the Torque app to clear codes. I think I need to get one for general purpose.
I had a similar problem in Wyoming towing. The code sort of implied that the boost pressure took too long to build. Luckily I have a tuner that can scan and read codes. I pulled to a stop and reset the code and went on my way.
Were you using cruise control? Just wondering. Mine has done this...
It does not. It works the same as you described it. And I'm too afraid to test if it will go from ACC to auto-brake to avoid the low-speed rear ending of the car in front of me.

Clift notes: Your trailer is small and this truck is strong. You got this, absolutely no problem. I've towed more than that across the US thrice.
Check out that thread and if you have any specific questions go ahead and ask.
Weird. When I bought my warranty, 5Star emailed me to ask what my Odometer read so that way they could add the 50,000 miles to it for my warranty. But I read the Terms the same way I read any other ToS...
Ok and my brother has a 2012 F150 3.5EB with 180,000 on the clock and it's drank nothing but 87 its whole life and has towed a fair amount and he drives around with the big contractor box on the back of it that is enough of a load that he normally gets 15 mpg with it on. It has had ZERO...
The guy I spoke to from BullyDog said they can't switch tunes on the fly anymore because the EPA said they couldn't. He said all the tuners that are left over from the 2000s-ish era of tuning are in in a form of "compliance" with the EPA.
