I didn't much care for the harder shifting of the performance tune, so settled on the softer shift tune. Maybe I should have let it relearn before changing. But I do often put it in factory tow mode which firms up the shifts some.
Having said that, I think clutch wear due to soft factory shifts...
Lately I have been doing a ridiculous entry because I f***ed my left knee, so I step up first with my right leg, then my left, then carefully lower myself in. I must look like an old man.
I completely understand the idea behind it. I was just stating a fact. Livernois softer shift tune shifts harder than stock but softer than their sport tune. That's all
Somewhere on here I posted where Livernois told me directly that the softer shift tune still shifts harder that stock. Call them if you don't trust me.
I will add that normally when this happens, I have parked having first put the tranny in neutral, to relieve any pressure from backing up to, and making contact with, the parking block, curb thing. So everything should be without load, with parking brake off. And not using remote start...
I hesitated posting this because the first time it happened, I thought it was all in my head. But it has happened several times since. I turn the key and as engine kicks in the initial rev up, I feel this bump, like someone kicking the bumper or something. I tried searching but obviously not...
Probably a bigger deal on older vehicles. and without all the closed loop monitoring we have today. I consistently get similar results when I search the topic, it's not a big deal today. Just don't fire it up and floor it.
My 1-2 shift can be rough, but I have been using tow mode more this winter than last. The 1-3 shift in drive is usually much better. It only does it the first shift then no more till the next morning.
I slivered up an entire bar of Irish Spring soap in my shed to keep mice away from my Harley. A day or two later, the little bastards had gathered up a pile of them on the side of engine.
