Your truck was set up to tow a maximum load from the factory, take it or leave it or buy something bigger if you need to tow more. The tune is a choice. You can switch back to stock when you need to tow, problem solved.

yes, I know but the Cobb tune was never installed on my car because the canned Cobb tune had some issues, turbo flutter if I remember correctly. My car was tuned by Montune and it included specific equipment installed, tires and multiple data logs to fine tune it.

I can't thank you enough for this post. I have the BAP on my Ranger and am cursed or so I thought, with the 18 in wheels. I could find few people with 18 in wheels to get advice re what fits without rubbing with a 2 in leveling kit.

Ordered mine and it was noted that the bolts came with it. Install took all of five minutes and it looks cleaner in the engine bay. I have attended a lot of car shows and fancy that I might enter the Ranger in one at some point so this little bit was a vanity purchase

Didn't want to mention names for fear that people would get panties in a bunch but, not even those companies. The company I was referring to was Coob. The number of people rushing to tune, and them being the first to release a tune... There were a lot of pushed limits and blown engines.

I wouldn't want the hard truth either but IMO he hasn't got a chance in hell that Ford or 5star will cover this. Time to buy a new motor and chalk it up to lessons learned.

Yes, works for me. I have the FPT installed and run it for daily driving. Never knew it was an issue for towing, no mention of it ever. I don't have the need to tow too often but when I do, I'll flash back thanks to your heads up.

You do realize you can flash back to stock when you need to tow right?

Me too, suck it up cupcake. I do have to spray mine with bed liner spray to make them match. I find myself needing the middle tie downs all the time.
