I was just wondering the same thing... I'm having a similar issue. The dash lights for no ABS, Advancetrac, hill start, or pre collision. My cruise control and auto start stop don't work either.
I took mine to the dealer last week and long story short, they have no clue what's going on. They...
...when I've made a left turn, the ABS light comes on, and all the other nannies pop up on the dash, e.g., fault in ABS system, terrainmanagement fault, fault in advance trac, park aid malfunction, hill start assist warning, etc. etc. etc. If I turn off the engine, wait a minute and restart...
...surprised me though. even in situations with only three tires on the ground and slippery mud I had no problems. I could tell the terrainmanagement was kicking in (that odd grinding sound of traction control) and I really didn't expect it to make the difference it did. I don't think I'll be...
...three skid plates, a locking rear differential, stiffer shock absorbers, and a package of electronic traction aids that Ford calls TerrainManagement. You can get that on a 4WD Ranger that costs under $30,000, and I think it actually works better than the front locker found on the ZR2 or...
Pretty impressed with how well the truck did the past couple days. I think the terrainmanagement was a good thing to add and could tell it was working. Not bad for stock. This does has me rethinking the OME leveling kit and I'm now thinking about the entire lift kit. Also, skid plates will be a...
You will use a rear locker MUCH more than a front. Also the terrainmanagement on mud/ruts is about as close to a front diff lock as you can get without a physical locker. With slight modification to gain height and ground clearance the FX4 will give you plenty of capability.
I'm not sure where the angles come from, but I do know that the TM knob is not required for them to work. My angles worked before and after I purchased and installed a TM knob in my truck.
...(AS-BUILT)
but as you can see in the picture, NO ANGLES are displayed - only the steering angle and diff lock icon (if turned on) :\
Do I also need the TerrainManagement knob or any other sensors for this to start working?
Many thanks for your help and greetings from Slovenia.
...auxiliary switches. But to each their own
I was actually debating on getting a 4x4 before getting the fx4 but I really wanted the terrainmanagement, trail control, and skid plates:facepalm:I would've got a xl fx4 but 2019 required xlt or lariat.
But no matter what ranger you get I'm sure...
They didn’t have any fx4 when I bought mine so I got the 20 xlt sport 4x4. Added the leveling kit, terrainmanagement switch and skid plates. Only thing it doesn’t have is the trial control. You will love the truck it’s great.
...out this video of a new Tacoma Off-Road. Many of these issues are surprising given the age of the design. The fact that that the terrainmanagement goodies and locker is only available in four-low seems crazy to me. Especially since going to four low seems to be a problem In and of itself.
...was tested. This included the cloth and leather-trimmed seats, the high-strength steel frame, and the EcoBoost engine.
The terrainmanagement system of the Ranger provides push-button off-road control. Pushing a button provides an automatic change of calibration in the engine and...
...I could save the money on the FX4 package. I would upgrade the shocks, struts and leaf springs. Purchase the Locker, add some stronger bash plates, get the tow hooks I like and mount 32" tires. Sounds like you can upgrade the software to get some of the Terrainmanagement. Thanks for the...
there is a whole thread detailing how to do it. its a long thread but details start showing up about halfway through if i recall, it works like a champ in my sport 4x4. https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/terrain-management-upgrade.4901/
