I believe BDS claims that its lifts are designed well enough that the factory stability management, traction control, and terrain modes will all function correctly… I forget all the specifics but hearing/reading that somewhere is why I think bds is the way to go.. 3.5 or 6 is just gonna depend...
Yeah that another button to swap out. TC would be cool but TM seems more important to me. The overbearing TC in snow is annoying. My wife’s explorer has TM and it allows some slippage in the snow and ice. Its less jarring and nicer to the brakes. Hard not to spin a touch in the ice.
Just to insure you understand, adding the TM switch button and using Forscan to make a couple of changes will activate TerrainManagement. It does not enable the Trail Control feature.
...to give him benefit of doubt lol
The only difference in the suspension is the shocks and struts they come with from the factory. Other than that, they’re the same truck. There’s a few slight differences like skid plates (which my 4x4 has also, just not as robust) and the terrainmanagement...
...test the FX4 off road but I did run it through its paces while hunting. Handles rough logging roads pretty well and the TerrainManagement features were really nice on the snowy mountain roads in November during deer season. Even with 40k on the original tires it did really well. I looked for...
Loved the ride of my Tremor….agree the shocks made the truck plus the lift/level.
Interior had a few goodies (uplifter switches) too but nothing I couldn’t live without. Removed my stickers and red grille plastic pieces as I hated them. The Raptor style wheels were sweet. Currently in a 2023...
Question about this. If you could add the shocks, could coils (https://www.shocksurplus.com/products/fox-2-0-performance-series-coilovers-985-02-133) possibly work from a 19-23?
The Tremor also sits about an inch higher, track is slightly wider and don’t forget about the bank of auxiliary switches that are included. That’s an awesome feature for adding lights, a compressor and other goodies to power.
...5G ranger's tremor fox shocks and added them to their 6G XLT FX4 without any modifications needed. General Grabbers are already available from the factory with the tire option upgrade, terrainmanagement is standard with fx4. all the other features from the 5g tremor were just cosmetic after...
Even though you're not offroading, there's real value in the FX4 package. I have a 2.7 liter with the FX4. Not getting stuck a couple of times due to have a locking differential and terrainmanagement means a lot.
As much as I love the 2.7 motor, I'd give it up before I would the FX4.
...using Forscan fixed the issues with faults popping up randomly. I also had a bad connector to the computer located in the passenger side kick panel it would lose com with the other on board cpu's and cause a terrainmanagement fault the dealer found and repaired it under warranty Hope this helps
hello hopefully this will help , Do you have adaptive cruise control ? If you do did you recalibrate the forward faceing camera and radar . if not you will need to anytime you lift or lower from factory height . you can do this yourself using Forscan .
...suspension-wise (after getting an alignment), but all of my systems have faults when I start the truck: ABS, collision avoidance, terrainmanagement, park assist, cruise control, etc.
I read online that I might have shorted something accidentally, I did take a multimeter to the fuse box but...
...see anyone who has been successful (yet) as this requires a different switch assembly and possibly other Forscan changes.

I did exactly the same when I added the auto stop start eliminator and the TerrainManagement knob switch. Took 15 minutes. Invest in a plastic upholstery toolset. It is inexpensive and that with painter tape prevents marring of the interior parts.
