I bought a set of takeoff rims last year and set up with snow tires and TPMS-42s. I found that the truck self learned the new tpms units by either
- Driving 2 miles or less,
- Changing the air pressure of each tire a couple of psi with the ignition on in my driveway.
Winter tires have a different tread compound that is optimized for cold temperatures. I purchased a set of BLIZZAK DM-V2 for New England winters and am very happy with the performance last season.

Yes, I needed to do the same when I installed my Truxedo Deuce! These plugs can be removed and re-used if you are careful! Use a flat object like a putty knife or even better a plastic rivet removal tool such as this available at Amazon, Advance Auto, etc..

Did You install it yourself, or have a shop do it? It looks like one side was dropped during shipping. I would suggest exchanging it for another one, as your drawbar and / or hitch accessory (such as bike rack) will be leaning to one side.
The menu option for trailer attached is to set up Blind Spot (BLIS), and has no effect on voltage at the conector. I just tested for running light voltage (using a DVM ) on my 7/4 pin connector, and it's present without needing a load from the trailer lights. It may be helpul to verify that...
