I had a '96 F-150 with a v8 (351 as I recall) and a 2004 F-150 with a 5.4L v8 that I towed my MasterCraft ski boat with. The F-150s towed night/day better than my '92 Ranger with a 4.0L v6. That said, I doubt those F-150s would have done nearly as well as my 2021 Ranger does towing my 7x16. I...
I tow a 7x16 enclosed trailer that is now a fully equipped toy hauler. It tips the scales at almost 6,000 lbs. fully loaded with sxs, water and supplies. A brake controller and weight distribution hitch are two necessities. Another point to address is proper tongue weight (10-15% of loaded...
I have over 62k miles on my Ranger. I tow quite a bit between my utility trailer and my toy hauler (almost 6k lbs.). All my brake pads and rotors are still looking good. I do a combination of city/highway and occasionally use my parking brake on hills.
I would question the dealer's...
I researched anti-sway weight distributin hitches extensively when I wanted to get one. I opted for the Andersen. It has worked out amazing well and no need to disconnect anything when backing up. Keep in mind, it is counterproductive and a PITA if you have to disconnect to back up.
btw, I...
Ya gotta go with what works for you.
I love my mall crawler and my rock crawler. :sunglasses:
Although my Ranger works towing, I tend to baby it. OTOH, I beat on my Talon like it owes me money.
This is pretty much the extent of off-roading my Ranger sees.
I had a 2016 Explorer XLT with a heated steering wheel. I was turned on/off on the climate control screen.
btw, the only thing I miss on my 2021 Ranger Lariat is a heated steering wheel. At least it's only during a few months of the year.
I frequently tow our Honda Talon 1000R on our 14 ft. trailer for day rides.
Less frequently but longer distances I tow our 16 ft. cargo trailer toy hauler conversion (fully equipped).
The description says, "NOT for North America Version XLT Supercab 2019-2020."
Is this in error and they will actually fit a US 2019-2021?
I think I figured it out. The XLT does not come with mirror turn signals but the Lariat does.
I'm towing a fully equipped 16 ft. cargo trailer toy hauler conversion. Approaching 6k lbs. fully loaded with water and sxs. I have an Andersen anti-sway weight distribution hitch that allows backing while connected. The Ranger's towing capability has impressed me with this. It doesn't...
