Finally threw in the towel on the 3rd brake/bed light replacement. I appreciate the instructional links and encouragement that was offered, but I’m man enough to admit when I’ve had my ass kicked, lol. In this case it was kicked, trampled on and handed back to me on a filthy platter.
Honestly...
It’s the AVS Aeroskin (textured matte black), I guess what I’d refer to as “Version 1”. The v2 has a raised deflector across the top.
They’re kinda hard to find under the AVS brand, but Ford sells them as OEM equipment/accessories….so if you look at the dealerships with a big online presence...
I haven’t done a performance tune yet, so I’m just curious what your impressions were/are afterwords? Lol, was the drive home a lot quicker than the drive to the shop? Thanks!
Lol, I was afraid that was the direction I might be heading in. I’m gonna lick my wounds and give myself a day or two to recover from this last fight…..then have a good, long look at what’s required to pull down the headliner.
As always, the feedback and input is truly appreciated. Thank you!
Meanwhile, somewhere down in southwest Florida…..
There’s a relatively handsome, slightly older gentleman still standing in the bed of his truck.
He’s hunched over the back of the cab, yet again staring at the wires running from the factory CHMSL through the tiny, oval hole located along the...
Quick follow up question: I have the harness/clip free but there’s still no slack in the wiring to pull the harness to the hole. Do I need to remove this second clip through the sheet metal (2nd pic)…..or will that put me into “embarrassing trip to the dealer” territory? Thanks!
Crap...
Ahhh…..ok, that’s the path I was on but I started worrying that the clip fastened through the sheet metal might be holding the headliner in place (or serve another function) and was afraid once I popped it out I’d be past the point of no return……and getting into “Crap, my dealers gonna charge me...
Just wrapped up installing some Rigid SR-L series reverse lights. Used a short harness from the taillight so they function as additional DRL/marker lights with a red halo under normal circumstances….then fire-up to full power upon shifting into reverse. Really diggin’ the added field of light...
Jack, I’m not gonna pretend to understand exactly what you’re doing with your truck, but I will say that every time I come across one of your posts I’m in absolute awe of the work you’re doing. I don’t really know what I’m looking at, but I’ve been around long enough to know when someone takes...
Thanks for the suggestion. That might be my next step. I have Forscan but I haven’t tinkered around with it yet.
Having said that, charging and maintaining the battery overnight didn’t solve my radar detector issue, it still took about 10-15 minutes to power on this morning. So now I’m...
Thanks for the reply, Dave. If I recall correctly, it was actually a picture of your setup with the hardwired connection that got me thinking about the battery; which in turn led me to discover the battery saving feature on these trucks. Most of my driving is short trips around town, and we’re...
Boring post ahead….but I’d be grateful for any input.
I bought a battery tender/charger today after noticing that over the past few months my hardwired radar detector was beginning to take longer and longer to power up in the morning. It originally came on the moment I started the truck, but...
I’m just gonna say one last thing and see if I can sneak on outta here and close the door.
I’ve had several conversations with Mack and can say with absolute certainty that this thread wasn’t started with an “our truck is better than yours so we need our own sub-forum” mentality.
The OP is a...
Nope, I’m comfortable where I am. I can talk shit all day and all night. I’m retired and just had all my meds topped off at the pharmacy, so I’m happy to go down the rabbit hole.
Just a heads up though; when my pm meds kick in I may not make much sense, so cut me a little slack, ok? It’d be...
The stereotype is based on the notion that buyer’s buy Roush solely for prestige. That’s a huge assumption people are making and a massive brush they’re painting us with. Having read through nearly all of the Roush related threads on this site I haven’t seen one comment made by a Roush owner...
It’s interesting. Every one of your posts in this thread have included unprovoked insults directed toward Roush and Tremor owners. Your replies seem designed to antagonize, segregate and provoke conflict.
You’ve also managed to let us know that your truck will outperform/donkey punch any of...
Lol…..unfortunately, I can only guess as to how “stereotypical” Roush owners are perceived. Apparently I haven’t been around long enough to realize that there’s a “mold” I’m likely to fit…..and that my truck purchase says something about my character.
I don’t mean to sound antagonistic, but...
