You can’t see it when tailgate is closed. It’s visible when open, but just like the wires that hold the tailgate level, you don’t even really “see” it when it’s open. Sure, it’s there, but who’s looking in the corner of the tailgate on the Driver side?

I'm assuming he thinks the top of the Damper Strut will be putting stress on the Bed Wall side of the Tailgate opening as the Tailgate descends. I don't see any movement or Flex as he puts it.
Ha Ha! My challenge was using a short handled 3/8 inch socket with the T50 Torx head and getting those two bolts off the tailgate! After that it was easy peezy!
