Well, from what I was told and it appears that all 4 tires were dismounted and remounted as all 4 have yellow tire markings where the valve stems are, so when they remounted the tires, the balance wouldn't be horribly upset (if they even checked it)
Ok, so the Ford dealer in association with the Dealer I got this truck from (not a Ford dealer) fixed the TPMS problem. They told me what it was, but I find it tough to believe.
The Tech reached out for a $400 Diag fee to dismount and mount all 4 tires to physically check the actual sensors...
Most ot the time the issue with the AC is not being able to move the heat in the amount of time the ride takes. If the ride is 45-60 min, and you're recirc-ing the air and moving at 45+, sure, it'll get nice and chilly inside. but if it's 90+, you've got a 15 minute drive, the car is 130+...
It'd be nice to have a converter lock up control button. Being able to simply not lock up the converter would solve a lot of drive-ability issues like the idiotic parking lot 1-2 (or 1-3)shift surge when your foot is coming off the throttle.
I dont know about yours, but my truck, when in drive...
Clean fresh oil is what keeps turbos alive. Anyone that thinks you can go 4000-5000 on an oil change has seen too many commercials. On a turbo engine of any sort, anything beyond 3000 on an oil change is looking for an excuse to upgrade the turbo. Dont even get me started on 7500 mile oil...
Has anyone put a manual trans in a 5G ranger?
Seems like this EcoBoost engine with a decent 5-6 speed manual in it would be fantastic. No idiotic transmission programming or host of other electronic misery to go along with...Even just a Standard T5 would be nice. Plenty strong enough.
Doing a voltage drop test on your connections is easy also. Just because the connection looks clean and good doesnt mean it is. I've seen 2.5-4V drops on a battery connection that looked fine.
Really doesn't matter if it's R12...they all leak.
And that changing the refrigerant is just a scam. Im an old guy, 60+. My uncle drove a Dodge truck for 20+ years with propane in his AC system. Blew ice cubes out of the vents.
Anytime you under supply a logic board that is running solid state relays, you're going to get extremely weird stuff happening. Dots will connect that shouldn't, and vice versa. And if the logic board is programmed to see 11.75VDC but it's floating around 11.6-11.8, the board gets mad. Worse, if...
Youd have to flatten ALL of the condenser fins to cause a measurable problem with the heat transfer out of the cooler. As far as needing a top off of the R134, yeah, not remotely surprising. It's an automotive system. it's wiggling and wobbling and vibrating and bumping down the road, the...
When the 2.3 EcoBoost enging gets a little longer in the tooth, the deposits on the intake valve will begin to show. It's not an engine specific issue. Its the fact that the back sides of the intake valves dont see any fuel flow. ALL direct injection engines, if they run long enough, will...
Direct injection engines are notorious for deposits on the backside of the intake valves because they see no fuel. That code P2196 is a rich condition code. Once the short term and long term fuel trim sees the correct O2 sensor reads, it should clear itself. It's a 5 cycle read I believe.
I've tried to retrain the sensors a couple times, then sent it to the dealer to get sorted but I needed the truck and had to snatch it back. The dealer said it had some BCM trouble codes, but didn't diagnose further. The RTM seems to be working as the key, remote start etc all seem to work. One...
