@AzScorpion Thanks Dave! I can't pull the trigger on it just yet  . Gotta let the dust settle on this build. I will keep an eye on it as it seems to be the normal price for it. Hopefully in a couple weeks I can get started on the 9mm build. I think an 8.5" barrel for it would be...
Lower all assembled. Wasn't too bad. Took my time. I used a 5 inch machinist vise. Really need to get bench vise.
Hoping the upper ships this week. It is unassembled also.
Thanks Dave! I used the Testor's Enamel paint. I watched both and a couple more and used a toothpick to apply. Minimal excess paint so cleanup wouldn't be too hard. I didn't use the scraper method. The FIRE is metallic red (going for a deeper "blood" red than bright red) and the logo is...
That second one is me all over!! I know you just stepped into your "gun room" to take that pic. :like:
Finally got my lower painted last night. First time doing it.
Got my lower today  Finally can get started on the build. Still waiting for the upper to ship. Going to paint the"Safe" and "Fire" before I start the build. I might do the horse logo for Anderson, haven't decided yet. I have seen a few video's where they use fingernail polish...
I figured I would probably end up making a portable base for my vise with 3/4" plywood. That way I can set it on the kitchen table when needed. I will use the jig just to see what I think I may need. I like the BEV Block and would probably get it later.
I see the benefits of the Reaction...
Thanks for the heads up. I am still looking for another geed build. I think I am going to do a pistol or maybe do a dedicated .22lr.
I have a .22lr conversion on hand, the lower build kit on hand, the stripped lower will be at the FFL on Saturday and still waiting on the upper build kit to...
Got it ordered....$180.18 to the house. Not bad to have 2 guns in one. Easy drop in to change calibers. Solves the cheaper ammo issue. I actually think the wife will love it and I will "lose" that rifle. ?
EDIT:
If she likes the AR in .22, I would probably get the M&P 15-22 for her at some...
Probably will put 300ish rounds per trip of .22. 3 mags = 75 rounds (x 3 or 4 reloads). Then put 60 rounds of .223 at the end. I will probably clean it after each trip.
The wife wants to change the P938 to .22 when we go to the range (we have the kit). She wants to practice her technique...
Thanks Dave.
I quoted the Primary Arms price to the house. Midway has it 10 bucks cheaper but they only have one mag.
I didn't know about the fouling up of the gas port. Didn't even think about it. I know .22's are dirtier than most rounds. I guess I would finish off the day with a mag or...
The wife was complaining to me about the cost of .223 ammo. She said why not make it so we can use cheaper ammo. She was thinking AR9 build since we have 2k 9mm and they are cheaper than .223. I have been looking at the .22LR conversion or just get a M&P 15-22. I can get a CMMG conversion...
If I hadn't built this one, I would purchase the Radical. It is still a great price for an AR 15.
I ordered 4 Magpul Gen 2 mages from here for $10.99/ea. Thought that was a good price and shipping was only $7.24 and no tax.
DAMN Dave!! Now you show me this. Everyone that was complete that I have seen up until now has been 599+. That's ok, I am $553 complete with all fees, shipping and taxes included. It's just a labor of love to assemble it.
I just looked it up and put it in my cart, it would be after...
So I spent some even more money tonight.....I found some 55grain .223 for 6.59/box. Ordered 10 boxes. Also ordered this Real Avid Punch Set and another Ammo Can for the .223. The ammo can I have is full of .22 LR and misc. .38, .357 and my EDC self defense 9mm rounds.
@AzScorpion I am not...
Well...I went and done it! I ordered THIS tonight. Along with a BCG and CH with flip up sights it was $348 to the house. All in is less than $550 with no mags. Dammit, I forgot the mags!! :curse: No hurry on them, I can borrow a couple from my SIL or one of his brothers. I found some for...
