Heck yea! I got out of the wheeling scene a few years before they opened AOP. Havenāt been there yet. Only service roads and such like prentice cooper with the ranger so far. If you want shoot me a pm. I donāt want to derail the thread here. I will for sure reply to that as I get an email.
Where is this Hurricane Creek Trail? I used to wheel all over the place around Chattanooga but trails have disappeared in the years past. I'd be down to go wheeling/camping if it's semi close to Chattanooga.
Thanks Viper. I really dig the fact itās so well hidden. And it works great. Pulled a f150 out of a field and a Volvo out of a swamp last week lol. I love having a winch. Sadly I havenāt been off-roading to speak of since installing it. But soon.
I realized just now that I never really took many pictures of it lol. But hereās a few. It was for sure a labor of love. Swapped a Mercedes om617 in her.
Iāve had lots of old janky cars and done engine swaps and such and it is always such a pain to get emissions testing done on anything not new. My last was a diesel swap in an ā84 Toyota pick up and that was an emissions nightmare. I ended up selling it and using that to fund parts for the ranger...
Sign1941, thank you! I got the whole get up from 589 fabrication.

It shows out of stock now but they are a small shop and kick parts out pretty regularly. The mount kit was top notch and the winch is a beast.
Haha. Donāt even get me started on emissions testing! But yes this is kosher. As long as it passes the cil test meaning they work, gas cap pressure and passes the obd-II test on equipped cars nothing else is looked at. Older vehicles get visual plus sniffer test. I live in Chattanooga and they...
My buddy was looking at the hf special and was talking with me about it and honestly those things are pretty legit. This was of course after I had mine installed. Iām using the rough country 9500 lb synthetic rope one and have no complaints so far.
you are absolutely right about if you only...
So a few months back I chopped and hacked my factory exhaust up in order to have a little more clearance as well as get rid of the pipe hanging out the back of the truck. Not that it looks bad. I mean most every vehicle has exhaust hanging out somewhere but my preference is to have it hidden...
Well it wasnāt too costly. Just a tad over a grand for everything. I got the whole shebang from 589 Fab except for the cables which I made up myself. Had to make longer cables because the solenoid box has to be removed from the winch to mount it in the cradle. I have pulled vehicles, my truck...
I have my winch mounted in my front bumper however most folks that have a rear facing winch that I know use a receiver type mount front and rear so as to be able to easily swap locations. As far as powering they mostly run those quick connectors much like what an electric fork lift uses to...
I have the 589 fab winch mount and have had it on my truck since early November and I, too, was concerned about airflow until I installed my winch. That is when I realized the inner cooler is actually behind the grill and that is the a/c condenser in the lower opening in the bumper. Not that I...
I also would love to see COBB make a tune for our trucks. Iāve had their tunes on subies and my Mazdaspeed 3 with a pro tune and that thing was a beast. Just finished a full COBB install with full exhaust I/c, intake and tune on my buddyās eb mustang. If they did offer a tune for our trucks I...
I didnāt read through this whole 34 page thread but just wanted to share an app Iāve used on my phone for years called Fuelly. You can track all sorts of maintenance related services and the like and obviously fuel mileage. Here is a screenshot of my rangers info. Itās a fantastic app I picked...
Haha yea it gets crowded quickly. Iām sure you wonāt have any problem with the install. 589fab made everything very easy and make a super beefy and great looking part. Iām super happy that they offer this as it was perfect for me.
There are like 6 clips in the front of the radiator cover. I broke the passenger side ones off because I was unaware. Also the side mounts for the winch cradle will only go one way but you will figure it out. Install was really easy. Running wires was kind of a pain but still not bad. I just...
