You maybe able to see cell signal strength in the "secret menu" on the infotainment screen. Unless you already know for sure the modem is bad

I have the FP tune. On my daily commute with highway and in town driving I get around 22mpg. If I'm on an all highway road trip I get around 29mpg. Looks like you have big wheels/tires... I'm guessing that's killing your fuel economy.

After market GPS antenna will work and are pretty cheap.
