Just as a side note, on their website, their basic setup with attachment points and struts is less expensive than just the stock struts from Ford (and these only work on the earliest 2022 model year trucks that still have the original attachment points).
I think they all throw rocks. What rocks your tires throw seem to be a function of the tread pattern dimensions and the dimensions of the rocks you happen to be driving on that day.
I think the wider the blocks in the tread, the bigger the rocks you will be sending down range. In my...
My guess is Ford understands how to determine if the failure was due to user error of not properly placing it in tow neutral mode. Likely related to what codes are present and what codes are not present.
My additional guess is Ford knows how reliable these fault indicators are as it pertains...
That is definitely the way China would like the numbers to read. ;)
I guess they will be a part of the "developing world" until they have reached number 1 economically speaking. :)
On the cow thing, cows do produce a lot of methane (anyone living near a dairy farm will confirm this fact). Methane is like 25 times worse than C02 at greenhouse effects.
Another big producer of methane is rice paddies. You don't hear a lot about the rice paddy impact because it generally is...
I would not be surprised if many, many patents already exist for that very proposition, likely owned by the usual suspects.
I believe the concept was first put forth by some of the Tesla guys (Elon being their mouthpiece, like always). I think he approached some of the other major's and...
JB Straubel, one of the earliest employees of Tesla, started a company called Redwood Materials to focus on Lithium Ion battery pack recycling. It has been a while since I read they were breaking ground on a new factory located near the Tesla Gigafactory in NV. I did read a short press release...
My brother in law owns a Tesla Model Y. My wife's family recently had a big reunion to celebrate their parents 72nd wedding anniversary. My BIL and SIL drove their Tesla out from Wichita to St. George to attend the party. This was the second time they have done the trip, the first was when...
I agree with others that say 17".
On the Method wheels, I have always liked the look of their wheels.
The Bead Grip feature, I wouldn't pay any extra for because it was "Bead Grip". The Bead Grip design isn't going to provide a similar benefit to actual Bead Lock wheels.
One final thing...
I use a simple pressure bleeder. It makes very short work of the procedure. Make sure you start with the caliper farthest from the master cylinder (by hard line run, with ABS systems that can be deceiving without a shop manual to tell you which one and what sequence to use when bleeding)...
I agree that the bigger tires and AM wheels can really be a hit to mileage. I added some aftermarket wheels and 35x12.5x17 Nitto Trail Grapplers MT's to my Jeep Rubicon and lost 3 MPG around town and more than that on the freeway.
The AM wheels were way heavier than the stock ones and the...
I can't express how disinterested I am in what others may choose to drive. If someone shows an interest in what I am driving, positively or negatively, I just smile with a brief wave and start putting some distance between me and them (usually by driving abnormally slowly. :))
Unless you live in a place where you can get very low temps and you are parking your truck outside for extended periods of time, the LV really doesn't do much. It is really an anti lock braking effectiveness thing when first starting out with the brake system cold soaked.
Most of the DOT 4LV...
All non-silicone brake fluids (DOT 3, 4, 4LV and 5.1) start absorbing water the second you brake the seal on the bottle. The absorption rate is a factor of time and available moisture in the air.
As your brake fluid ages, the water content in the fluid lowers the boiling point of the fluid...
That is a great result. I can see the 24-26 on open road using cruise control at about 65 MPH. If I run it up to 75-80 MPH, my MPG drops to about 21-22.
My truck seems to return almost exactly what the EPA estimate says. I guess there is a first time for everything. :)
