I think driving style plays heavily into one's satisfaction with this transmission. I'm easy like a Sunday morning and I couldn't tell you how many gears the truck has because I can't feel it shift. I watched the tree once or twice for fun and laugh at how smooth 1-6 is.
I agree. Go to your hardware store and get some felt furniture tape or some of those little foot pads and start sticking away!
Funny you mention this. I adjusted my seatbelt height not too long ago and I was driving around thinking "what the heck - a rattle already?" Nope - this thing's tight...

As others have indicated it is the High Pressure Fuel Pump priming and getting ready to start the engine "just in case" this is probably to eliminate the need for a delay between hitting the ignition button (or twisting the ignition key in my case,) and the engine starting.
What I have gathered...
@burnkill - What's up neighbor! I missed your intro post last week. Gorgeous truck. Perhaps one day our velocity blue beauties will run into each other in the valley.
It's absolutely a regional phenomenon as well. I cannot fathom a dealership getting away with ADM in the rural town I grew up in. In Las Vegas, NV you can charge somebody to walk through a door, unfortunately.
