Installed a dual port today. 5 minute job. 3 bolts. 2 prongs. The stock bottom housing (plastic) I’m not a fan of but hopefully the CVF pipes get released soon which will take care of that. The sound in my opinion is great. You can hear it even with the windows up. Throttle response is...
Stuff happens. That’s life. It’s fixed so all good. The only thing that really upset me about this whole ordeal was this…”we can’t give you the bolts to install yourself because what if you installed them wrong and in a court of law we could be liable for giving them to you”……ok so youare...
Fwiw these are the hardware store bolts. They are 10.9. Only difference from factory was the 17mm head and non taper on tip. So if any of you have this problem in the future, ACE hardware had the 10.9 m12x1.75-40
Lol who knows. I’m heading to dealer in a few to get the new bolts installed. I went ahead and did my exhaust last night. I’ll post about it after I finish spark plugs and tune.
Hardware store was to get me through the day. I’d rather have 2 hardware store bolts than 2 missing bolts. Tomorrow Ford “supposedly” will put new ones the “pulled” off a truck at the lot. Guess that buyer is screwed too.
@Andy ice little write up. Thank you. I was able to get my DP off just now in about an hour using your post as a guide (already had exhaust off) The initial torque needed to break the nuts is high. I used the harbor freight LONG 15mm wrench and it had enough length to make it fairly simple...
What sucks is the whole reason I was under the truck was for the exhaust install. I removed the stock exhaust but now I need to remove the downpipe. I’m going to have to wait till I get the bolts I guess before proceeding with downpipe.
Dealership called me. Told me they got 2 bolts and to bring it on. I said ok. On my way to dealership they called me and said “don’t leave yet. The technician didn’t know he needed to stay and left” Better and better I swear.
