  1. Seeing a TFL Ike tow with the new Raptor leads me to finding an interesting change to high altitude towing restriction/guidance.

I think some of the replies went I little off topic into the general laziness or intelligence of people. I was just pointing out that what was a more restrictive reduced GCWR limit based on altitude is now just a "hey, when you go higher, your performance it reduced." caution. I think all of us...
  2. Grille Removal?

When you reinstall the grill, reinstall that center divider and latch cover before you push the grill back in, makes the reinstall much easier.
  3. Seeing a TFL Ike tow with the new Raptor leads me to finding an interesting change to high altitude towing restriction/guidance.

Agreed the turbo helps, but it is compressing the air more at high altitude to get the same absolute manifold pressure as it gets as sea-level, and the more you compress it, the more heat is created. Also, I think the thinner air through the intercooler likely means it can't wick as much thermal...
  4. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Bet it's already at the dump.
  5. Seeing a TFL Ike tow with the new Raptor leads me to finding an interesting change to high altitude towing restriction/guidance.

Today I saw a video by TFL where they used a Raptor at max load. Before I commented on the altitude impacting GCWR, as stated in the 5G ranger manual, I decided to look up what is in the new Ranger manual. To recap the 5G stated: "Reduce the stipulated permitted gross combination mass by 3% for...
  6. Raptor for sale-

Or Juan, or Jorge, depending on where you search that number, but all Alverado.
  7. OBDLink EX ForSCAN OBD Adapter 20% off Prime Day

I need to look in all the FMOD tools and such and see if I can load a custom startup/shutdown animations. I want to make a custom one based on "Raptor", but with "Thunder" instead.
  8. OBDLink EX ForSCAN OBD Adapter 20% off Prime Day

It's a good adaptor, I use it with my laptop and phone (Google Pixel 8 Pro using the USB-C to USB-A adaptor that was included with the phone) with Forscan Lite. I didn't have my laptop with me when I was at Rockingham when that LF wheel speed sensor failed, so knowing the phone worked was good...
  9. How long do you have to use the one free navigation update

I was thinking 3 years as well, but I can't find any documentation stating that, so unless someone can find something stating that, my update appears to have expired before I was expecting it to. I was checking to see if it showed any "use by date" since I'm coming up on 3 years since I bought...
  10. Charging System Service Now

Scan it with Forscan, it can hit all the modules and show codes that a base ODB2 scanner will not show.
  11. Bed power supply and light

I got some LED stripes I had on my Amazon wish list from my wife. I don't have the link since I don't have an order receipt for them and they were removed from my list when bought, I should have set the has to 1, instead of removing it. In these pictures I was just installing them. You'll notice...
  12. How long do you have to use the one free navigation update

I just looked at the updates site and I'm no longer seeing that I could update for free. I figured that would be allowed for at least 3 years from purchase, or until used. But 5 years would have been more appropriate. I normally use my phone for navigation anyway, so the truck built in...
  13. Cyber Orange Ranger Club Thread

@Zrider Come on in with that beautiful Cyber Orange Ranger with Black Appearance Package!!
  14. What did you do to your Ranger today?

I didn't get glasses until last year, and I can already relate to this way too much. Luckly my distance issue is really mild and only in my right eye, so I can just remove the readers.
  15. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

I love that road, but not during the day, too much traffic and too many people all wanting to go very different speeds and too many of the slow ones will not use the cutouts to let the faster traffic by. Last time I was up there I towed my car there and then drove it around at night.
  16. New Members Introduce Yourself!

If it were me, I would not. But I would rather the 2WD as I think it has a little better payload and lower maintenance cost over time, while I think the 4WD has a little higher tow rating. I would like to lower my truck some and tow with it, and the towing limit of the 2WD is still in my needed...
  17. Auto Stop-Start Steering Angle Issues

So far most here are not looking at this from the OPs POV. He didn't complain about ASS working, he complained that it's not working, so all the post about how to disable it are not helping the OP with their concern. After replacing the battery, some systems may require some drive time to...
  18. Rear axle oil seal on 2016 Wildtrak

Don't misunderstand me, I've never said your Ranger and you are not welcome, just letting you know that this forum is likely not your best option for technical data about your ROW Ranger. We have a few other ROW Ranger members here, and most of us drool all the time at the different trims...
  19. Rear axle oil seal on 2016 Wildtrak

Almost all of this forum's members are from North America, with the 2.3L EcoBoost 2019-2023 Ranger that shares very little with the ROW (Rest Of the World, from our perspective) Ranger. You'd likely find much more relatable information for your truck on a UK, EU, ZA or AU forum/group page for...
  20. Update Calif Performance calibration for 2022-2023 Rangers

I would suggest reaching out to Ford Performance on that. While I could see that message for the 22-23 MY Rangers, you already have the CARB approved tune for the 21. It may be that the software engineer just got over aggressive with the message and forgot there are years they already have CARB...
