Curious, why would you think the TRX wouldn't be as useful as a Ranger?
Granted it will suck gas like crazy but other than that seems like it would do all the things any 1/2 ton pickup would.
I find it funny that steel wheels have become a styling statement.
I am old enough to remember new cars coming with plain steel wheels with what was refered to as a poverty cap or dig dish cap. There was really only two reasons they were on the car when delivered.
1. You couldn't afford what...
If you were to take a cross section of the road surface and looked at it at high magnification it would look the rocky mountains. Soft compound tires have the ability to conform to those irregularities verse riding on the peaks that a harder compound does. It is the added surface area of the...
The tread is not sticky, it is softer so it more readily conforms to the irregularities in the road surface and this actually reduces rolling resistance compared to a compound that is hard and can't confirm to the surface. That is why the rolling resistance of a tire goes up in the winter, the...
All terrain and mud terrain tires generally have more rolling resistance than an all season because of the deeper open tread design, stiffer side walls and extra weight. A tire that can confirm to the road surface better such as an all season will have lower rolling resistance.
I worked for Motorola for 15 years and the last 5 I was doing international product approvals on telecommunications equipment and standards development work. For the most part US standards and European Norms (EN standards) are similar but not the same. It was my job to influence the designs so...
FWIW, I have been an engineer for 45+ years and have heard all the derugatory comments about engineers. The common thread with all of them is the folks making them do not know the big picture and why things are the way they are. I have always taken the time to explain why things are the way...
You need to do a Master Reset to go back to factory defaults. The volume & fast forward just restarts the system, same as turn off the truck then starting it up again. Master Reset is in the Sync menus under General/Sync.
FWIW, the EPA Highway rating between difference between an FX4 and Tremor is 5 mpg. The only difference between the two that would impact mileage is the tires and a slight lift on the Tremor. I leveled my Tremor and saw ZERO difference in mileage so I would say that most of that 5 mpg comes from...
This has been my biggest complaint with the 10R80 in the Ranger. I have had (3) vehicles now with the 2.3 Ecoboost engine and they are/were all the same. They are just not happy trying to maintain speed when the rpm is below 1500 rpm (wouldn't call it lugging but just not feeling relaxed). With...
The Ford dealer where I have purchased my last 5 Fords has a display on the service counter for BG Products induction cleaning system. My son also has it at his shop and has had great results fixing rough running DI cars with the system.
I have been using the CRC induction cleaner in my turbo...
To be honest I have never had a reason to look at phone call history in Sync but was curious enough to go out and check.
Connected via Bluetooth I can see two screens worth of history (8 entries) in All Calls, Incoming Calls, Out Going Calls or Missed Calls in the right screen. There are more...
I had a fender bender with my 17 Mustang. It needed a new passenger side fender, bumper cover, passenger side mirror and paint.
The final total was $7200.
My wife hit a deer run in her 14 Dart last April. There was about an 8" diameter dent in the front top edge of the hood, the grill mounting...
I ran across this info while pursuing the Ford web page for the Bronco. It stated the 2.3 is rated for 275HP when operated on 87 octane and 305HP when operated on 93 octane.
Not sure what Sync version shipped with a 2019 Ranger but the current officially released versions for your truck would be 3.4.21194 and NA 2 20 for the maps.
My 21 Ranger came with 3.4.21098 and maps NA 1 19. I updated as soon as I got the truck home.
