Just a quick screenshot to add to airline tech's post. An easy thing to see is the equalizer (I think it's called). This is the "Y" mentioned above. Check to be sure it's similar to the picture, and not cockeyed/rotated. edited - oops forgot the picture.

Just put one of these battery charger cables on my '22 Ranger today. But... While doing the positive side, the entire positive cable assembly popped off in my hand. I don't think it was the least bit tight. I believe the tension on the wires were holding it down because it slipped right back...
