I looked at it as I walked by to turn on the heat in the garage. First decent snow of the season last night and of course tons of salt was spread on all the roads and streets this morning. It is going to be painful to take it out in that crap for the first time.
Is that just for the Ranger? If it is, YIKES! I keep full coverage $250k/500K with $1K deductible on all three vehicles. Total for the Ranger per year is $529.08. Total for all three combined $1365.52. Looks like that total will go down $125.86 when the renewal rolls around since I let State...
I think I may buy one and carry it "just in case". My battery went dead sitting in the garage for a couple of weeks. A person would be screwed if you ever had to leave the vehicle sit at the airport.
My garage floor has some serious slope to the drain in the center too. (Had to add shims to all the cabinets and benches to get them to sit square with the world). The Quickjacks are very stable, and easy to move around. When not in use you can hang them on the wall or slide them under a vehicle.
If I recall correctly, the battery died before I installed the ASS Eliminator (plug & play version) and maybe adding it helped cure the battery drain issue?
My Ranger arrived on Sept 6, 2022. It sat on the dealers lot in Santa Clara CA for a month or so, I bought it and had it shipped to my place here in South Dakota. I parked it in the garage and never moved it. 2 weeks later I was going to tinker with it & the battery was dead. I assume it was...
It is a bad habit I've developed and in the end, it usually winds up costing my $$ because I can't get rid of the stuff once it is no longer needed.
I bought a low mileage used cover & hardware from a member here, then I found two more new covers at dealers in North Dakota. I like keeping spare parts on hand, so I ordered one from the ND dealer and tossed it on the shelf.
Quickjack <------- These are so handy for oil changes and tire rotations! I'd love to have a lift, but that's not going to ever happen until I find a place with a shop building.
You have to use a light bar that has 4 wires. Tail lamp, right turn, left turn & ground. Using the 4 prong plug will not work for you if you are just adding a brake light. If you go that route and have BLIS, your vehicle thinks you have a trailer plugged in and you have to set the trailer length...
That definitely crossed my mind. Something I will watch for sure since I live in an area of the country that uses thousands of tons of salt every winter.
Didn't the earlier year models come with plugs in the holes and Ford saved $1.00 by leaving them off of the later models?
Installed 24 RUBBER PLUGS, 20 under the rocker panels and 2 on each side under the floor pans.
And since I installed an new engine cover and hood struts on the Ranger a few days ago ....my 2020 Escape became jealous and demanded the same treatment. So I thought it was best to keep the peace out...
Didn't do anything very exciting.
#1 Finally got the left side screen to go in to "engineering mode" so I could see exactly what's thing there that might be useful.
#2 aired up all the tires (apparently there was no PDI done on this before it was shipped to me from the dealer in southern...
