I guess one of the hurricanes was good to me. A flood-totalled Saber Ranger showed up in Florida, so I bought the door off of it all for 1/4 the price of what the body shop wanted. It should only take me a few hours to swap the door and I'll be all set.
I was a dingdong and didn't notice my parent's mailbox and beat up my driver door (The mailbox is unscathed for anyone concerned). I'd rather not go through the pain of paint matching, so if anyone is parting out a Saber Ranger I'd be looking for the driver door. Can pay for shipping if not...
I'm still alive and still working on this project. I went and had a kid so that slows down progress ?.
The undercarriage is done. I have front/rear Ashcroft air lockers in with 4.11 gearing. Wheel hubs are rebuilt with new bearings, and new rotors/pads on all 4 corners. Extended brake lines are...
A few small things ended up slowing me down in my axle rebuild. A broken 1/4 BSPP tap for the air locker cost me the better part of a week, and my silly thought that freezing the pinion would allow me to tap on the pinion bearing without a press cost me a bit of time as I had to run to harbor...
If you loosen the bushings on the sway bar they can be rotated to the appropriate angle. It's just a round bar clamped by those rubber bushings, so it can be moved. It's just unable to be moved while clamped to the truck since the mounting bolts preload the rubber.
Be very careful when...
I Hauled a Crate engine 2.3L ecoboost from the Ford Dealership... with my 2.3L ecoboost. I'm glad I bought those APG Deaver leaf springs! The Ranger didn't even notice that it had a spare in back.
My truck is over 5 years old now :shock:
I didn't intend to get saber, and didn't really care about it. I was going to order a truck to my specs when the very first one my dealer got was fully loaded just like I wanted. The saber has 'really' grown on me and I couldn't imagine it in any...
I'm still working through the last of the rust spots, but a week long vacation slowed down progress there. I did receive the Transmission to transfercase adapter from the U.K., and it bolts up flawlessly. So the hardest question of getting the Ford engine/trans to mate up to the Landrover is now...
Yep - my three changes in Forscan were:
remove Automatic Start-Stop
turn Bambi Mode on (Fog lights stay on with high beams)
Turned off hyperblink which was on when I swapped to LED turn signal.
Latest update, I've bought a welder and am working to address several of the rust spots. The driver side fender/body is by far the worst of it. I've also got some body rust penetrations on the passenger side fender well up near where the washer fluid canister was. There is some sort of...
I took delivery of my 2019 Lariat on 4/12/2019. Right now It's got 48k miles on it and there's been a couple problems, luckily none that have caught me out of warranty:
Blend Door actuator failed under warranty
Engine died on me randomly while driving in slushy conditions... but it started...
Quick update: My Wallet hates me.
I have everything deleted that I want out. Sway bars are gone, charcoal canister is gone, transmission cooler and lines are gone, extra wiring the previous owner did is gone, the remaining engine mount is gone. It's time to start improving things now that I...
