Im thinking about going Cleghorn this Saturday. Right now Im on a stock FX4. Anyone know if there are parts I should avoid? Anyone do the gnarly parts?
Maybe after replacing the filter run your truck heater with the windows open on full blast, no AC. That may help clear any remaining moisture or smell.
This.
Not putting blame on original poster, because this absolutely should not be happening to you. But if you want the reduce any change of failure then fluid/ filter should be changed 30k. Filters maybe every 50k.
Same goes with 5k oil changes.
Hope you find a good solution. I'm just...
Just curious, would it be bad at all to drive off-road in 2wd and only switch to 4wd when needed? Would constant switching cause damage to the transfer case?
Sorry this happened to you. But you're right. Very few engine issues reported on these forums for the 2.3L.
I pretty much do the same OCD maintenance as you. Im at 36K on my 2019.
Hello,
Took these off another truck I had. These are a little beat up but still work fine. Hardware included
I can help with install if needed.
Front Skid Plate - $40
Transfer Case Shield - $20
Its possible you have 2 unrelated issues. The wiring harness getting caught in the fan is one thats been reported rarely on here. Some people had issues with the idler pulley braking off and the belt wraps everything into it.
Not really. When this happened again I just was driving about 25 min.
About a month ago I went on like a 6 hour road trip.
Seems to be working fine today
Just had this happen to me again today. Haven't scanned for codes but Auto Start/ Stop wasn't working for the rest of the drive. Getting concerned...
35K miles
A few times now I have had some low speed, short emergency stops. (Stop and Go that stopped really suddenly) And im pretty sure the ABS came on. But when it does, it kind of sounds like my front left wheel is grinding. Not sure if the other are doing it but that sounds the loudest.
I have had...
Just drove it and all seemed fine....
Tried replicating same conditions with AC and music no. No problem. I was at a SLIGHT incline when I had the issue, not sure if that's it.
I hope it's a one off issue...
Thanks. Yea this is my second Ranger I bought used, and from everything I see it all looks stock. 30k miles. When I took it to Ford to replace the battery they said they had no way to tell me if it's tuned....
I'll try driving home after work and see if I get any more issues.
No amber light. I tried hitting the ASS button a few times. No change.
I agree the code has to be in history. True if the truck detects any engine issue it will stop ASS. I'll scan later today and report back.
Hope it's just a one off thing. Everything on the truck seems fine...
