For the Limited cover it’s 1/2 inch of the threads exposed.Otherwise there is a possibility that user will over tighten and pull the front aluminum piece so hard that it temporarily bows...

Yep, had called Access Technical support a few days back and got a really nice tech. He said from factory they should already be adjusted. But like you said there is already some stretch that can be taken out.
