Please report back if anyone else did a full install of the module and test the features.
I am having mixed results. Verified the correct taps were made with RC today.
I will be out of town/away from the Truck so I'd be interested in hearing someone else's results of a full install.
What I...
Oh, okay. Basically you just enabled one feature: one-touch window up/down.
I can confirm that feature works on my install as well.
It's when things need to happen in relation to the lock/unlock assembly that things get wonky.
Or you could buy it for peace of mind -- it's relatively cheap. I have some left over from modding my WRX. You don't need it -- could be reused. But for those who like to do things solid. :)
Search for "Butyl Sealant Tape" on amazon.
You're going to have to peel back the sound/weather damping held onto the door panel by a black/sticky glue. I believe it called butyl glue. you can reuse this gummy glue. The wiring resides near the door latch assembly.
It's not hard; but there are some considerations. Two things I suggest...
PROBLEMS:
Okay, I did the install tonight. The install warrants some discussion -- it's not a 20 minute job. Some thought needs to go into it. But that's for another time.
So what functions do we have that is verified for the Ranger? The green is tested and working. Red is for issues.
I did...
Instructions unclear; lost fingers. JK.
It's tricky, but once you get the hang of it it should be fine.
I needed to understand how the connection box worked -- its design.
The video didn't help much cause I just saw some guy jimmying a hole in the connector box and the wire came out.
A...
Hi,
So we plan on switching from her/his driver. She's 5'2, I'm 6'. She likes it jacked all the way up; i like it jacked all the way down. The back and forth jacking up or down is getting tiresome. We opted for the manual seats cause it's actually quicker to adjust.
Any way to adjust the...
"If you run a few 1/2 bolts and washers in the bumper tabs just outboard of..."
Know what those tabs are for -- seems to be missing bolts? I just left the 1/2 bolts on as an added measure.
Got the Curt for $130 w tax. Yup to all this. Installed it last night doing the above. Using the 1/2 bolts to hold the bumper in place instead of clamps is the better approach. The hardest part was torquing the bolts back to 150 Ft lbs.
So, if I got this straight, that's all i need if I don't...
No one can decide that for you except you.
However, given your situation i'd say no.
We opted for a 4x2. It will mostly be a hauler and DIY truck. No interest in going off-roading other then a (fire) trail here and there. I think we'll be fine with good tires and a set of traction boards...
The wife liked it (it's basically her daily) and I was on the fence but leaning to the Ranger despite its 'warts.'
What made it a no-brainer was an extra $1000 in rebates via Ford Cash Certs that was introduced this weekend. See my other thread for details.
I was able to get -$5000 from MSRP on a XLT trim. See my thread on Ford Cash certs for explanation.
So, to date, I think i'm the one currently holding title for the 'most off a ranger'?
Got my Ranger over the weekend.
I can only speak for CA, but dealers have gotten in Fast Cash Certs this last weekend. I was getting internet quotes and one of the internet sales guy highlighted it in his quote. From what I have read, they are basically Ford dollars given to dealers to help...
Hey, neighbor. San Jose here. We plan on leaving CA to TX for a house and property that will need some TLC/maintenance thus the truck shopping.
Yes, we drove both back to back -- twice. Ridgeline drives like an SUV; Ranger like a truck. We like how the Ranger sits higher and you feel more 'in...
