My wife has a video of him at the beach at the end of his leash standing almost like a meerkat whining and barking when I sail off without him. I should see if I can post it someday with a meme...
Yeah there were quite a few Mantas and twins and I saw at least one Odyssey. The pic I posted of the camps along the edge was after a couple days. Actually there were very few gaps looking South at the RVs and trailers set along the SW area of the Playa. Probably 25-30+ dirt yachts at one point...
Many of you will not know about the Alvord dry lake playa. Speed freaks and fans of Jesse Combs do, sadly. There are others that make this trek to a remote SE corner of Oregonand landsailors are among them. It is a rare 12 x 7 miles worth of open flat and mostly smooth surface on the right...
Sorry for slow reply. Busy around the property or goofing off sailing. Yes there have been blades used for these in the past. Custom order over a grand $! I'm enjoying the warm weather too much to plan on freezing yet, but I bet it goes like a scalded cat!
I have the Husky 800# with the separate sway bar, so remembering to remove before tight maneuvers is annoying but not that big a deal, for me. I have towed without it and the bars and chain setup seem to have some sway help but I wouldn't count on it in high side winds for very far. I also have...
I learned to drive in a 60 MGA. Helped Dad rebuild it. I would disconnect the odometer and hot wire it while he and mom were at work to joy ride it. I messed up the 3rd to 2nd synchro cause I hadn't mastered double clutch yet. Careful what you teach your children! ;) This was before I was old...
Slow reply sorry. I busted my right rear a couple times. Ford part first time. Amazon recently. Looks fine only missing the Ranger logo in the chrome area. Mad that the tree also dinged my panel under it. DOAH!
Delayed follow up on the Boost upgrade and moving. Been so busy unpacking and fixing up some issues in a 1968 home. Good bones though. Real lumber in the Aberdeen area those days.
Anyway the Ranger was an excellent work horse. One of the cargo trailer trips was with the tool boxes and other...
Finally got the Ford Calibration Performance upgrade installed and am happy so far. Will be towing a heavy trailer, moving next week, so will share my my reaction then. Looking forward to it. Not the move so much but the performance should be noticable.
Got these 2 years ago. They work great on my Ranger but are slightly taller. (about 1-2" total) Been fine lightly loaded but don't want to pull my big travel trailer with them, so I'm offering for sale. $850 OBO, less than 4000 miles, that I know of. TPMS works with Ranger fine.
So I went to the hardware store yesterday with my dog and parked next tp this one! When we came out he was in the truck. It was pouring rain and I almost asked him to roll the window down but saw he was having lunch on a large sandwich, so didn't bug him. Still I wish I told him my rescue dog...
Tandem axle will definitely help and add a level of safety if one does get a flat! My trailer max is like 7400 or something, I forget. Partially loaded pretty sure I'm approaching 5,500 with water. I do plan to get to the cat scales and get some honest numbers for the long term future planning...
