My cousin and I planted 20 walnut trees similar to you, heavily shielded from animals and one survived. It’s about 30 ft tall and I keep a locust tree uphill of it. Every year I gather walnuts and sling them around the property and hope the critters bury them….good luck!

doing similar cutting in NC. I have 4 saws, plus an electric, and think I will be getting a couple more electric and getting rid of the smaller gas saws. So much easier with the smaller saws when they are electric. I kept one poplar just for the perfect shade it provides.
