My wife has an entry level Lexus which shares its hybrid drivetrain with the Toyota rav4. Acceleration is completely smooth - zero driveline jerking or surging. It’s too smooth for me because it does this via a CVT which are not really enjoyable transmissions and they have questionable...
Agree. I thought it might just me be my player doing that but I guess not. It was painful and I don’t watch their videos anymore but I love David’s reviews and deep dives, and Jason torchinsky is one of the best writers anywhere, auto journalist or otherwise.

i was wondering why the new taco looks so bad, hideous, weird, and overly complex. oh and plasticky and out-of-proportion. i couldn't understand why toyota abandoned the beautiful simplicity of the first generation design.
it looks like in order to bring the taco bros up from off the...
sorry you’re dealing with this. Where were you parked when this happened? At home or at a business ? What time of day?
Curious because I live in your area. And the break ins and smash and grabs so common in the northern part of the state are starting to become more common in socal. But I don’t...
At some point I'm replacing mine, too. Problem is most of these are pushing $1000 and no way it's worth it for me. No need to pay that much unless you're going for something that can add functionality, like a rock rail.
These are the ones I had my eye on. Still to expensive for just a step, if...
Texan here who also went the wrong direction and moved to CA.
We have a harder time than most califiornians though because they don’t know what they’re missing.
just don’t stay here so long that you turn soft and start to complain how any state with seasons is unlivable!
nice tremor ! Enjoy!
thats a great looking ranger. Simple and clean. going to be a classic someday - never see these supercabs, especially with steelies. and in iconic silver.
I think he’s saying that his mind likes the ranger but his heart likes the Taco. Some things just aren’t rational. What a romantic starry eyed young man he must be.
looks like a cool device and a great upgrade for an older vehicle.
cell phones also use GPS and are pretty accurate - maybe not as accurate as a Garmin, but probably. But you still have to download the maps.
also, iPhone 13 and older phones can use a weak cell signal to make an emergency call...
I’m sure tremor trim will be back, will just take a few years. Plus, the tremor trim is quite a bit of money for what you get, and you’ll be stuck with no choice for interior colors and materials. You can lift and level for much cheaper than tremor trim and upgrade wheels once they become...
I use sport about half the time when driving around town.
It gives plenty of responsiveness in most scenarios. The one area that it doesn’t do much is off-the-line acceleration. If I’m trying to merge from a standstill into a moving lane of traffic, this engine really takes forever to wake up.
I heard someone say that if Gavin sees people with extra money, he will find a way to take it. I don’t know if that’s true but it could be the same thing with electrons. You have too much in your battery, so they’re coming for your electrons.
just to be clear - if you’re listening Gavin I don’t...
I'd start with calling local locksmiths. They should have the software necessary to add a key even if there is no existing key, and I'm sure they would be much cheaper than the dealer. If they have the correct software, they should be able to delete the lost keys and add a new one.
There is no...
Battery vehicles, whether solid state or liquid electrolytes can’t scale. Not enough raw material mining capacity to make it happen on a global scale. Going to be a niche product until there’s a major breakthrough leading to a reasonable way to store large amounts of electricity.
