I have been running the winch for few months with no disconnect. Just keep having people tell me horror stories about vehicle fires in case of a short. I know probably not high likelihood but since already had this warn switch figured worth installing.

I already have the Warn disconnect. Just have to find some space to install it.

I think that explains it pretty well. I assumed it also controlled power to the winch itself. See I knew I was wrong! :). Guess I need to continue hunting for space to install this switch.

Isn’t this exactly what the winch control box does?

My MPG is down for sure but I also have heavier skids and a prinsu rack so hard to say what is causing it. I am getting around 18-19 right now and closer to 16-17 in winter. Spare is kept under truck. I am running a matching spare and doing a 5 wheel rotation.

I have Shrockworks. If I knew how to weld I would probably weld them on instead of using the bolts. Seems stronger and cleaner. But I don’t know how to weld and this would be super low on my priority list.

Weird. That is just lazy. I mean I only did the front and the rear but if I was paying someone to do the job I would expect them to do it right.

That sucks! I have parts of my trim left but only the middle bits since I only put in the front and rear after the install. How are you keeping water from seeping in through the the front hole that the trim screws into?

Installed Prinsu roof rack. Not the most fun install but got it done.

The warn solution would work but I ended up not using and just wiring directly to the battery. Finding space under the hood to mount the warn switch was something I gave up on for another day.
