Our trucks are nearly identical sans the steps... you have my attention on the trans cooler idea. I was thinking the same thing after installing my PPE pan... that Mercon LV is so thin it makes Kool Aid look like maple syrup! I freaked the first time I dropped the fluid thinking I had water...
The technology in dam near everything is nowhere as robust as years past. Never till just a few years ago did I have to keep such a watchful eye on my vehicle for equipment failures. Hell I wrench on my classic car waaay less than my 2019 Ranger. I do like my truck, don't get me wrong... but it...
due to the rhythmic sound from idling and changing pitch with acceleration. I would pull the plugs just to ensure each is good.
But this new information about the AC not working, it is in the region of the sound issue, passenger side front?
somewhat related my wife's Landrover hadn't been driven in just a few days and went to pick her up in her car from the airport and had similar experience... the BMS as part of the system will cut off some pre-determined set of sensors and they fire off warnings if you just jump in.
Only way...
What you're describing sounds like low transmission fluid. The trans solenoid will not engage the clutch packs without proper pressure which could be from too little or too much fluid.
Having done my own trans fluid service, it is CRITICAL the trans is checked with the pan as level as possible...
I had an issue in late winter early spring when its wet 99% of the time my sensors going off when nothing was in front of me?!? Mostly from humidity wetness as I never hit any puddles in my travels. Made me crazy as it would fire off every few minutes!
Took smallest zip-lock my kitchen had...
replaced my DPFE along with two other sensors (K2GZ-9F479-A) & (DS7Z-12A697-A)
The DPFE did help along with a recent Transmission filter & fluid change.... but the other two sensor installs COMPLETELY eliminated my other sub 25mph issues.... those sensors also increased the snappiness of the...
Big thumbs up thanks on this sensor and the temp one up the chain!
Having already completed the DPFE along with two trans fluid changes & a single filter change... after doing these sensors (which were factory for the last 60K on my 2019) I noticed an immediate improvement in sub 25 mph driving...
While we wait for the outcome of this purchase. What maintenance procedures have you completed on your 2019 thus far?
I only ask as I have a concern that most of these issues I keep reading about relate to adding more power but people doing nothing to keep things running smooth. I can't help...
I'd suggest using a concrete mixer to catch the fluid after removing the stock pan as it is large enough for a no mess job.
I would also suggest the dip stick mod making filling a breeze (make sure you are level or the reading will be off)
I'm mildly handy and even after doing this I still...
You know, Livernois is hosting a track day event somewhere in MI this coming week. Maybe it's all hands on deck getting whatever finished to take there and some already boots on the ground getting the site ready?
Customer service in any industry is not what it was even just 10 years ago. Wait...
I've done my own oil changes and noticed oil pressure pushing its back up the dipstick, if unseated it will certainly spray over the engine.
If it were me... I'd at the very least drop what oil in there, more worried about exposure to road debris getting in there and just put back in new oil...
If you happen to be close to one or can plan a trip to one around other errands, not a bad price. Only offered through online purchases so you have to plan it out.
10R80's are a touchy subject around here. The procedure without Mike's dipstick does make it a chore, but changing my fluid and...
I'm about to install the same set of OME leafs. I saw another member's very detailed post, curious if you have anything to add or their install mirrored your own? Thanks in advance!
anything not SS you have to drill a weep hole if it isn't already there. Its not going to prevent the inevitable but will push it further back. Even more so if you sand and Hi-Temp paint the surface every other year.
But that is a lot of effort, best to just stay stock and save up for a better...
