Cool article. The Mrs. is still intrigued by the sport. I'm on the fence. I kinda want her to have a year old explorer (about the same price). I haven't looked at the bronco sport yet, but the rear seats looked cramped in the pictures. Our kids are still small, so it may not be a big deal...
Reminds me of a friends new lincoln years ago. Back when push button start was new (and a luxury). He told me to take it for a spin. I kept pressing the button and nothing happened, except the preset had the driver seat moving forward and back. 5 minutes later I had to ask him how to start...
This is why I have trust issues ha. It's also why I do it myself. I understand those that aren't able to having to take it in for changes, but I won't ever. As long as I'm physically able.
I've got the epyx, and I like them. I like the smaller profile of them. With a narrower step they can be slippery in the winter though. I've had a foot slip off them a time or too.
I played up through high school, and then hung em up in college (except for mens night once in a while). I didn't pursue it in college because nobody was going to want a (at the time) 5'6", 130 lb. goalie ha. When my son wanted to try it, I was hesitant to go back out. He begged me to help...
My dad always said the same thing. He would teach anyone that wanted to learn on his equipment, but not do it for them. Probably like having to pack your own parachute for sky diving ha.
I took a look at your link that references durabak liner. I see they make a clear version? Wonder what that would look like? Here we go again, down the rabbit hole I go. ?
I did read your process there a while ago. I think it turned out great and it gave me the inspiration to do the same. I like that gray color too, it goes great with your color. When / if I do mine, I think I'll go up to that lower body seam all the way across. I'd probably end up doing...
I scuffed mine with just a green automotive scotch brite pad. You don't really want to sand it or impart scuff marks, just knocks off the sheen a little bit. Then just used a bit of acetone to clean it up. Tag rag to remove any lint. I don't know if you would have to do it this way, but I've...
My nephew has them on a lifted diesel f250. He loves them. When my grabbers wear out, that's possibly where I'll go too. Toyo's were factory on my wife's last suv too (mazda cx5), and they were a great tire. For some reason though, they were only like 300 treadwear on an suv tire? Only got...
I put some painters tape (masking tape) around the vent. I then used some plastic trim tools to pop it out. It's held in with a couple clips that snap in past the metal opening. Also held in around the perimeter with 3m double sided tape. I peeled that off and reapplied some new for install...
I don't have any experience with it, so I'm not sure on that. My concern would be if it would go on too thick and look too chunky. You could always do a spray out with it on a scrap piece of similar plastic and see how it looks?
Since the rest of the exhaust system is fairly large tubing, I just cut out the stock (restrictive) muffler and welded in a flowmaster super 10. Gives it a bit of growl (not ricey at all), frees up the flow a bit, and cost me maybe $50.
Got my daughter on the ice for the first time on Saturday! She did fairly well for her first time. I was able to get her to stand and take a few steps. She loved it. 2 kids and 6 hours a week on the ice might just be the end of me though ha.
I popped mine out and sprayed them with just plain matte black krylon. If you want to ever reverse them in the future back to stock though, I'd go with plasti dip.
I went back an forth on this too, but ultimately got the 17's. Couple reasons. It's a smaller truck. I think it looks a little more proportioned with 17 (more rubber). If it was full size with 35's or 37's then I would definitely go 20's. 17's are also cheaper (wheel and tire). And as...
