65 Dart has been my Covid project. Was sitting in a shop with a blown transmission for 20+ years. Picked it up in March 2020. Rebuilt the trans, rebuilt/modified the slant 6, added disc brakes, new suspension, wheels, etc. Fun weekend cruiser.
I went up to 265 65 18 Wildpeaks and there is still room up front. Don't think you could go much bigger without modification. Maybe 265 70 but I'm happy with my choice.
I adjusted the tire size with FORSCAN. Pretty easy once you get it working. Also got rid of the double honk, changed the startup screen and enabled high beams and fog lights to work together.
I have no issue hauling kids around in my Ranger. There are definitely some annoying things about the Ranger but I've managed to fix most of them (tires, shocks brakes) I would never again buy a Dodge product. Been burned before. Reliability and resale is not great to say the least.
WOW! so glad I saw this. Brakes were one of my top 5 issues with this truck. Mushy and inconsistent. Just ran the procedure with Forscan and like magic the brakes are firmer and more consistent.
Not sure if anyone is still following this but I'm having the same issues. Rough downshifts which sometimes cause the truck to lurch at stoplights. I have to say, I've been on a few road trips and pulled a trailer through the mountains and this thing was absolutely amazing. Love driving this...
My biggest complaint about the brakes is they are inconsistent. Sometimes they feel ok and other times I have to press the pedal in 3-4 inches before they engage. Sometimes they grab and other times they require a lot of pressure. I tried the ebrake trick but noticed no difference. I also...
I replaced my factory tires with Falken Wildpeaks 265/65/18 (running at 35psi) and was surprised what a difference that made in ride quality and handling over the stock Hankooks. Got rid of a lot of the wandering feeling. Last week I replaced the rear shocks with Eibachs and that got rid of...
I'm curious how fast people have taken their Ranger. I know there will be some out there that do not approve. Personally I was on a road trip this weekend and had it up to about 96. Felt pretty stable at 90 but started to feel squirrely above that. Still have the factory shocks so that could...
Yep. Same issues. Factory spray in liner and front seal does not stick very well. Center shims were not included so made my own. Otherwise not too difficult but did take longer than expected.
I just got some Falken Wildpeaks last week and I like them. Drove 500 miles on them this week and truck handles so much better than with the factory tires. These are what should have come with the FX4 package.
I installed the Kicker speaker upgrade from Stage 3 last week and installed sound deadener in the doors. I guess disconnecting the window switch caused the auto function to stop working. I ran across another post that instructed rolling the window all the way down and then rolling up (w switch...
Got my new Bakflip cover installed. Took way longer than it should mostly because I had to find a tap to clean out the bedliner from the front screw holes.
I have a chance to pick up some new 275/65/18 Michelin LTX AT2 tires for $400. (Tundra take-offs) I'm not a fan of the factory tires and I don't do much off roading. These are a bit larger which I like but not sure about ride and fit. I've seen a couple folks here mention using that size...
Jesus. I was stating my opinion as that is the whole point of this thread.
Auto up down on my drivers window already stopped working so you would be happy about that.
The lawsuit comment was meant as a joke.
Carry on...
Definitely missing on the Lariat:
- Better gauge design. The side screens are too small and useless.
- Sunroof
- Heated steering wheel
- Auto Up/Down window switches (all)
Missing on all models:
- Better bed design with 120 or 12v power (lazy that Ford missed this one)
- Rear seat design that...
