  1. DIY: Adding the 12V Power Outlet Option in the Bed

I'm a little slow and can't find the part number for the auxiliary power plug in this thread. Has anyone posted it? I'd like to try my hand at a custom harness for that bed plug. My Ford dealer parts system seems pretty hopeless but it should be a common plug. Thanks
  2. LED Lights and Blinker Speed

Can confirm in my 21 Lariat that the Oxilam 7440 with built in load resistor work flawlessly! Cleaned up the hyperflash in the cab and a Canbus created problem with the overhead maps lights (one wouldn't turn off). Good stuff but they do run pretty warm.
  3. Negotiation on a '22 XLT 301A on dealer lot.

Stick to your guns and angle for the lower price! If it's a '22, remind your dealer that sales of the current platform are way down since folks are waiting for the 24. Offer up the sweet Escape in trade as a sign of brand loyalty. And watch Ford.com. My 21 Lariat came with a 2k factory discount...
  4. locking gas plug

Can confirm that my 21 Lariat does not lock even though there appears to be an electrical push switch on the door latch. I can also confirm that my truck has the notches on the filler opening to accommodate this lock. Just know that I've not tried it yet...
  5. Ranger Must Have Accessories

Nice truck! Since I don't have them, I'd want to mess with the outfitter switches right away. Grill/ ditch/ rear lights and maybe a compressor? But that's just me.
  6. New Mods Today

Apologies for jumping in here but I just did mine... https://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-performance-front-grille-ranger-2019-2021/p/M8200FRD/

  8. What is everyone paying for their 5th Gen Ranger?

You shouldn't have to 'eat' anything. You've deposited on a vehicle and if you don't buy it, they owe you the deposit back. Am I missing something here?
  9. How much does it cost to get the tow package after buying used (OEM or other)?

Agree! Just finished mine but will still add TBC later ($$$). Benny at LT has what you need which is the harness trade out (70) and the 7 pin adapter (45). Went with a Draw Tite (120) hitch specced to the Ranger and I'm good to go at less than (250). Prices are ballpark but pretty close. BTW...
  10. Nit Pick…

I appreciate your comments! My new Ranger is great and I'm hoping it'll stay that way. My comment on your post is that there's never been a perfect car and probably never will be. As humans, we're just too diverse to settle on one option or opinion when it comes to vehicles. That's why the...
  11. Bed Lighting and Routing to Cargo Light

Really appreciate the advice! Like I said...fng.
  12. Bed Lighting and Routing to Cargo Light

Thanks for the link! I'm the FNG in a Ranger who's trying to add lights. After reading the attached article I'm wondering if there isn't a way to NOT run a wire into the cabin for low draw bed lights that don't need to be switched. I know the harness for the rear sensors and tow plugs runs down...
  13. New Ranger

Congrats! Best red this side of Mazda and contrasts well with the black! If you're interested, the FORD performance grill really toughed up my Lariat look and you can easily pay for it by selling your existing desirable grill. Just be warned that removal can get touchy. Enjoy!
  14. Fuse/ relay panel location

Now that's a fuse box, mate!
  15. Fuse/ relay panel location

    Very clean! Thank you!
  16. Fuse/ relay panel location

Hello, I'll be adding lighting to my Ranger in the future and think the best way to prepare for that is to add a fuse panel. Is there a favored location? I would prefer to mount it somewhere under the hood, perhaps on the firewall so any experiences or suggestions are appreciated.
  17. Prices are Insane

IMO Westbrook is one of the worst offenders when it comes to dealer adjustments. They've decided they're going to milk this cow til it runs dry. Such arrogance!
  18. XLT vs Lariat - differences

For me, the Lariat worked the best. I'm used to safety and luxury options and wanted those in my new truck. I found that if I fully optioned the XLT, it was pretty close to the Lariat so I felt justified paying more. BTW... Happy I did!
  19. Extended Warranty (I know)

I'm on the fence too but will end up with some type of warranty. Stuff just costs these days with no letup in sight. A point someone made is that even if you don't keep the truck, the cost is partially offset by increased resale value, much like 4wd which drives up the desirability factor. A...
