Dang thatās cold. We have some friends down here from northern Alberta and it was -38f when they left. I think the F/C evens out at that extreme cold. They drove down 4800km in some insane weather. He also has a Ranger.
Thank you for the details. Going to pull the trigger once I source here in the states.
Stay warm up there. I spent lots of time in Montreal and Chateauguay in the winter months some years back and DAMN it gets cold!
Pretty sure any Subaru dealer would give you top dollar for your Outback. There are hardly any in stock at our local dealers even here in sunny sw Florida. They should be in high demand out there.
That was a shitty move on Fordās part to change to that plastic half non skid plate. The ā19 and I believe early ā00 trucks had the metal full plate.
Welcome! FX4 is good for the skid plates, trail modes and locker. Suspension is subjective as some like and some dislike. I had a 2020 with FX4 and it was fine for me. Even if you plan to change the suspension to Fox or similar the FX4 adds some good value items in my opinion.
Agreed that a 65k Ranger Raptor is nearly insane, but itās still 20-25k cheaper than a F150 Raptor which will soon top out at well over 100k once they put the GT500 motor in it. Some are just willing to pay the price I guess.
The door gets in the way when parked next to a car due to reverse opening. It prevents accessibility to the cart full of groceries while the door is open because you are stuck behind it. I liked my SCAB, but this was the one down side for me although not the reason I replaced it with a SCREW...
Only been 2 weeks, but I have yet to be flashed. Beam seems to be correct as others have also commented. Iām very happy with the high beams also which are extremely bright and project quite a distance.
I went from a 501A Lariat SCAB FX4 to a 301A XLT SCREW with Technology, Tremor, and tow packages and honestly the only 2 things I initially missed were the LEDs and push button start. Upgraded every bulb on the truck to LED and got used to the switchblade key. No regrets.
I switched to the below bulbs that @mtbikernate recommended and iām very satisfied with the results. Perfect fit with all dust caps and very white bright light on low beams and extremely bright on highs. Yellow fogs are great with heavy rain and road spray.

The front doors on the SCAB are 5ā longer. If youāre tall it really makes mount and dismount easier. Iāve owned both and really like the bigger doors/openings. Down side of the SCAB door configuration for me is that it makes loading groceries awkward when in a parking lot with other vehicles...
