I can move the shifter in my Ranger with a single finger, not even having to press the button to move it. Not too satisfying. Slap-shift? 4x4 shifter has been a dial for a long time. Last truck I had with a separate gear lever to engage 4WD was a '97 F-150 XL.
Again, I understand how the wipers work, they just don't. I'm OK with automotive theory. I learned to drive on a 1970 F-250. No power steering, manual transmission, no anti-lock brakes. I did auto shop in HS, back when they taught that and do my own routine maintenance. Anything involving a lift...
No doubt. I was originally asking if there was a way to modify functionality aside from what I read in the manual. Isn't that what a forum is meant to do?
Aren't they putting a 6 in the Ranger Raptor? The 4's performance is fine now, but ask again in a few years. I don't think my truck has a turbo. I can't imagine a turbo performing that poorly. I did test drive a turbo 2.7 V6 F-150. "Underpowered" was understatement in that case. I'm no fan of...
I agree, but that doesn't happen. They just stay on. I understand the idea behind how they work, but it just doesn't happen that way. The wipers just stay on. Bright & sunny (rare in NJ), wipers are on. It's more complicated than it needs to be and the design is dated. Get rid of the stalks. If...
If I move the stalk down, the wipers do not stop. They just cycle again a few moments later and again and again... Up one/down one, same deal. They just stay on. I can get in to the truck now, after it sitting for about two hours, go and the wipers will come on without me doing a thing. I read...
No. It's a design flaw. My Ex's RAV4 is tinier and I've never had that problem there. Mom has a Ford Escape, same deal. No problems. My hands are not big. I'm 6'4" and 198lbs. I am not a knuckle dragger. However the wipers get activated, there should be a way to turn them off.
Power, simply. I press the accelerator and it's 2..3...4....5..... then power. Even with the 10spd transmission. A manual would be a better option for that. I sit in too much traffic to make a manual practical.
Maybe they should retire the stalk? On/off button maybe with a dial to control wiper timing? I'd do that with the transmission too. The goofy lever in the middle of the console just takes up space unnecessarily. Not like the transmission is mechanical anyway.
If I were facing the same decision now, I wouldn't buy. Simply too many issues for a new vehicle (in my case). However, I've received several compliments from complete strangers on the vehicle. They've obviously never driven one. It just cost me $18.00 for 1/3's tank of gas ($4.09 p/gallon). I...
No option to switch-off autowipers. Why do they have to be automatic anyway? I can guarantee that if I'm driving the vehicle and it starts to rain, I will turn on the wipers. No need for the vehicle to do it.
Truck? I came from an F-150, downsizing due to gas. The Ranger doesn't even compare. Biggest gripe is the radio comes on automatically. If I go to warm up the car, or just prefer to enjoy the silence, AM Radio (static) comes on automatically. Who thought that was a good idea? So, I have to...
