  1. power window

My favorite section is the part about child safety seats! Great reading he says sarcastically. I don't have any kids and removed the back seats so it's totally irrelevant to me. But it's there so why not read it?
  2. MPG tricks

A few years ago Consumer Reports did a MPG test of pickups in various configurations. Bed as it comes from factory with tailgate up vs. tailgate down vs. covered bed. They got the best results with the first configuration, open bed with tailgate up. I think it had to do with something like the...
  3. Letter From Lawyers

Two guys walk into a bar to have a couple of cold ones. Soon the conversation turns to lawyers, and the one guy says "as far as I'm concerned all lawyers are a**holes". Suddenly another guy at the other end of the bar pipes up "I heard that and I resent that statement"! So guy number one asks...
  4. Ranger is looking good on the new 33x12.5s

Beefy looking for sure. One thing though- on other forums (OK, Jeep) it's been mentioned if the wheels extend outward past the body, and it looks like yours do, you'll end up getting covered with endless dirt, grime and whatever. Thought about some extended wheel flares?
  5. Eliminate the muffler!

From my experience, you're always near a cornfield in Indiana!
  6. I finally got an engine cover

Absolutely right. I saw one of their SUV's in Midnight Blue one time and just couldn't stop staring. As you say, the light hitting it really made it sparkle.
  7. Black Horse Off Road Rear Bumper With Steps

I'm with you as far as age goes. All I do if I need to get in the bed is sit my butt on the open tailgate and swivel around. Use the side rails to prop yourself up if necessary. Or the old school way, stand on the tire and swing your leg over the side rail and stumble into the bed. Not...
  8. Super cab rear door alignment issue

Me too, I was having the same problem for a while. I just learned to shut the door more firmly and the problem went away. Best I could tell there's no alignment issue. I also learned (the hard way) to duck when accessing the back seat so I don't bang my head on the latching mechanism .
  9. Strange part found on Garage Floor

Wouldn't be surprised if that was from dinging an adjacent vehicle's mirror in a parking lot. Something I always have to be careful about. Which leads me to two rants- Why do vehicles today have mirrors that stick out so far? Things would be much better by keeping them closer to the body...
  10. Mice

Not long ago I had a local big-box store bucket filled with water in my garage, just sitting there for months. One day I went to use it and low and behold there were two dead field mice in it. There wasn't even any bait or anything in it. Thankfully I didn't find any damage to the truck that I...
  11. Swollen M12x1.5 Wheel Nut (ACPZ-1012-H) Replacement Write-Up

The following show was the first time I heard of this issue. Such nonsense for the sake of aesthetics. I'll miss Pat; may he rest in peace. He was probably the best part of the Motor Week program, although all around it's a pretty good show. And the host John Davis still seems to be going...
  12. It's been real and it's been fun, but...

You're a better detective than me, for sure. Thankfully that's not my dealer.
  13. It's been real and it's been fun, but...

Thanks- I never really dug that deep into all the options on this forum. I didn't find anything there but I'll keep looking. Good to know all that stuff's out there.
  14. It's been real and it's been fun, but...

I'm in St. Louis as well and just curious what dealer you used. Got me wondering 'cause I take mine to the local dealer where I bought it for all my service (the so-called "works package") and I'm hoping they've been treating me right. If you don't want to name names you could just tell me...
  15. How are the Tremor skids plates?

  16. It's Official, but different

    Everyday is Saturday!
  17. Hope none of you need to visit a dealership anytime soon

It's kind of like cash. Remember that stuff?
  18. Where are the lumber racks?

    That's a true lumber rack!
  19. Hail Protection

I'm here in the Loo also. And yes the weather's been crappy, but if you believe Channel 4, it's always going to be severe! We only had one hail event in my neighborhood and it was very minor. I guess you don't have a garage or carport available; fortunately I do so can't help you with any hail...
  20. Aggressive extended care sales / Turbo issues?

Exactly this. Turbo's may (or may not) be a problem, but with all the computer/electronic controlled components on today's vehicles, how long do you expect all that other stuff (aka "sh*t") to hold up? Try to get Billy Joe with the repair shop down the corner to fix any of it.
