So, in a sense it's like getting a waiver in the military and the military being Ford customer service having to bypass/override the authorization... yeesh. Thanks for the clarification. o_O
Goodness that is odd. I just had my carrier bearing, drive shaft boot kit, yoke assembly done. Same exact part number.
KB3Z4W602A KIT - DRIVE SHAFT BOOT REPAIR
KB3Z4784A YOKE ASY
RS001 CARRIER BEARING REPLACEMENT
All of which was covered under warranty.
Updated my first post but I want to let you know it was the carrier bearing that caused the noise. Good thing I had the truck looked at before going on a trip to Maine!
I was thinking of the vents as well. Turned the music off, turned climate control off, opened/closed the windows.. and the noise was still there. I'll probably send an email to the shop and see if they recommend having the truck dropped off or not.
Update #1:
I made an appointment with the dealership to take a look at the Ranger. I received a call from the service department advisor notifying me that the carrier bearing is shot and needs to be replaced. It's under warranty thankfully. The downside is that it has to be ordered nationally...
If I went back to an SUV I'd choose the Rav4 Hybrid in XSE. Not a huge fan of the piano black plastic molding on the exterior but overall very sporty looking and comfy! I couldn't believe how quiet the cabin is. I really hope nothing happens drastically to my 22' Ranger but if it's the case I'd...
Good eye. I do plan on towing and if the size difference is that minimal, then I think XL will be, to quote you, "the sweet spot".
Guess it is a good thing I spotted the 10% off deal! ?
@EJH At first I was going to go with the Firestone Destination AT2 tires but after some more research on what I really need for tires I'm leaning more towards the Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail AT. You mention the 265/65/18 is a sweet spot. I'm looking at going with 275/65/18 so how different...
Speaking of which I need to take mine to the brushless car wash. Undercarriage and the wheel wells are nasty from all the road construction work on my commute to work.
Hey y'all quick question.
I'm seeing conflicting information. On Air Designs official site they state that the fenders fit Super Crew AND Super Cab. On the Ford Accessories page it only states the Super Crew in bold lettering but also in the title.
So will the fenders fit the Super Cabs? ?
Air...
Oh dang and here I thought with my Old Man Emu 2" I could go up to 265/65/18. So it's safe to say 275/65/18 will be a safe spot without crash bar mod?
Edit:
Wish there was a DT in western Massachusetts.
@Discount Tire Convince your higher ups to set up one out here please and thank you! :sun:
Yeah, we have a Costco, Firestone and a few other tire shops but not a DT.
Looked up a video on the Borla exhaust and I loved the "sounds like a Focus RS". I know video audio doesn't do it justice. Does it sound fitting for the Ranger? I kind of like the raspy sound from the sound clip.
I have to say those door panels look great with the fenders. ?
I love the caramel leather seats in the Bronco Sports! Not a fan of the two tone but match it with the Eruption green exterior.. ?
Looks like they have plenty of space! I believe Ford has a rubber mat cover for the backs of the rear seats and cargo area.
Did y'all have calling cards too? I found my fathers calling card one day when I was cleaning out my grandparents house. Now that I think about it, I think that's why he went in as a 31M in the Army. He was stationed in Texas then in Germany installing radio coms and towers out in the woods and...
