My late '80's Ranger pre-runner bed cage had mounting brackets welded to the frame, used bolts to sandwich the bed between the cage and frame... My in cab full roll cage mounted in the the same fashion to the frame....also had fabricated shock mounts that allowed me to run twin 50mm Fox shocks...
The ICON 2.5 front coilovers come with a 650 lb spring....off the shelf other brands use 500 to 600 lb. springs...King would be best route for a heavier spring and longer stroke length... custom build and $$$$.....I'm only running a mid travel APG / ICON adjustable Damping setup...The ICON leaf...
I did the big mods during the first year of ownership...a few pics of other
stuff since then.....
Bed accessories for offroad day trips, and Lux rock lights for bro-crawling malls...
Swing case, ARB Ford Performance portable 12V air compressor kit in a box, Overland Vehicle Systems recovery...
I connected the last 4 wires from the switch to the installer box to make my newly installed Lux Rock lights operational....I got close to finishing last week, when it started raining and I called quits....
My " Mall Crawler" at Grey's Wells (,Butter Cup), last June...was giving the Ranger the tour of my old stomping grounds , Including Glamis, Gorden's Wells, Grey's Wells and Superstition....
I was watching cable TV show " The Lifted Life" this morning . They were at the 2017 SEMA show...at the Ready Lift booth they showed the parts for their new spacer kit for the Ford F250 and F350 trucks , there was Sway Bar end links included in the kit....might be just a F250 / 350 thing.... I...

wide tire, on the ford 8×18 wheel with the 55mm offset...255/70 R18.....
As for the longer sway bar end links...

links...I can't see...
I have the Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek . They are a hybrid tread design..
Center tred is all terrain, outer tred an
open lug m/t design....In my size 255 70 R18 they are a XL rated 45 lb tire...not as robust as a LT rated, but a higher load and tow capacity than a P rated tire...I have had...
At the entry level this would be my choice....the top line ICON 2.5 extended travel CVCD Remote reservoir and Piggybacks are not junk , but the Bilstein 6112 /5160 are a good setup for 2.5 front coilover/ 2.0 rear shock at a lower price point.... Same digressive valving as the ICONS used in the...
Just arrived.... Rock lights...8 Lux magnetic max white lights , Pro installer junction box,
Lux rocker switch....I will post pictures, up date my build journal after install.
Looks alot like my APG UCA's minus being shipped already fully assembled....
With the solid milled bushings there is a trade off... more road "noise" is transmitted into the chassis, but with the Heim joints and solid bushings steering feels much more responsive and nimble. IMO ...a good...
Not a set up that anyone on a budget would want to look at...but if you want to drive fast in the desert I would recommend an extended travel coilover paired with the APG Billet UCA and APG Billet tie rod ends...
My set up....
Our crew of Idots would dominate Olds and China Wall with our highly modified 250R ATC's, CR500 cycles, and nitrous injected sand rails...
Loved the afternoon sand drags , where we could face off against the fastest for bragging rights..?
I agree with the cohesive setups. since RK already has the Fox 2.5 , UCA choice will not make much of a difference in ride...for the rear leafs the firmer Deaver leaf pack are a good match with the linear damping of the Fox and King shocks... I'm using the ICON 2.5 , firmer digressive shock...
After a little more digging...the Fox DSC Factory Racing are not extended travel unless they have been altered by removing internal shims ( not likely) I was confusing them with the Fox 2.5 DSC Elite series that my buddy has on his Tacoma , and are extended travel....Graphics and color are the...
