Agreed. On top of getting rid of the highway vibrations, it felt like my truck got a brand new transmission as well. There is just way too much play in that two-piece from day one, and it only gets worse in time as the center bearing deteriorates.
Having installed mine 2 months ago--to me this...
I'd strongly suggest spending your hard earned money on a Tom Woods one-piece driveshaft ($729) instead of paying Ford to install their out-of-phase two-piece with center bearings that fail. Would arrive at your house in a week or less as well...
I put your Ranger5G shaft on this past October and it has finally made driving my truck carefree and fun for the first time. Sincere thanks for putting something on the market to address the issue—for anyone on the fence, I definitely recommend TW's driveshaft!
I don't think he or anyone else is taking up the position that every Ford owner is responsible to do this—he's just sharing what his initial issue was and all the tedious work/thought he went through to address it.
Do most owners need to go through the tedium of effort that he did in order to...
Thanks everyone for your input, I appreciate it. The more I stewed on it I definitely agree with what some have said. I do think that if I reused the coil springs I would regret not spending that extra $250 just for the peace of mind. Instead of just throwing money and shotgunning parts, I've...
I bought my 2019 Ranger Lariat used ~5 years ago and it had already been lifted by a previous owner.
The 2.5" lifted front has all OEM components, except for:
Fabtech UCAs
Fabtech intrusion beams
2.5" spacer above the shock (definitely not what I would have chosen, but here we are)
I never...
What replacement interval have folks settled on? I replaced mine ~15,000 miles ago, but would rather get ahead of it than wait for performance to drop. Curious how others are approaching this
I finished a ~3800 mile cross-country drive a couple of weeks ago, so it was time to change the oil.
Before I left and at 80,000 on the odometer, I wanted to try an experiment and see what kind of results I could get switching from my usual Motorcraft brand oil and filter to AMSOIL's Signature...
Went to the dealership recently to chase down sounds coming from the driver's side CV Axle (which is brand new) and they recommended I get myself a front diff drop and the improved geometry should eliminate what I'm hearing. I have a 2.5" lift and 33" diameter tires so I am right about at that...
Driver's side front eye bushing on the rear leaf spring was beginning to fail, so decided to upgrade both leaf springs, and replace the rear shock assemblies and bump stops while I was down there. Went with ICON's multi-rate leaf pack, 2.0 VS shocks and bump stop kit. The OE mono leafs had a...
I'm installing my ICON rear leaf springs this weekend and have purchased new poly bushings from SuperPro to put in the rear eye. I will have to reuse the inner sleeve on the OE bushings for my new poly set
Question for you, how difficult was it to remove the rear bushings from the OE spring...
FWIW I installed my stick a month ago and had the exact same issue. During install I thought I had everything tight and snug but it is very hard to verify that due to angle and lack of space. After a week of driving on a whim I glance underneath to make sure no leak and the bottom of the pan and...
Lariat?
I learned the hard way a couple years ago that the front headlights were the same on Lariats (as a unit). I bought my truck used and thought that the differing brightness between my two lights meant that one bulb had been replaced in the past. I bought a couple replacements compatible...
I installed the Aeroskin II on my truck back in January and so far so good. Installed it directly on my paint (which had been getting chipped all to hell on these Utah highways) and it has been thru many car washes and weather extremes and holding up just fine. As far as hood vibration, my...
Well done -- yeah it's a tight space for sure.
And you mean to tell me you didn't just go through that whole process just for clicks and views and pats on the back? Folks can be unnecessarily rude sometimes
My TB wasn't shipped today as it was supposed to 🤬 which means my truck is potentially...
