I looked at quite a few pictures, and it looks like many of them have uneven gaps. Although, in this example it seems less pronounced. Also, it seems to widen right under the manufacturer "stamp" in this example too. ?
If it is only a paint defect, do you think that it was painted from the factory like this? The manufacturer stamp (16x7J-55 DOT...)looks like it probably did fresh off the assembly line.

Was thinking about picking up some steelies. Does this look damaged, or is this typical on steelies? I'm referring to the area just above the holes in the wheel.
New tires! Stock wheels on 285/70r17 with Fox 2.0s. Front and rear crash bars removed. Removed the Plasti Dip. Then proceeded to slap on some bigger wheels...because you can take the child out of the ghetto, but you cannot take the ghetto out of the child. ?
Not sure about in front of the front axle, but the rear axle is the recommended jack point in the owners manual I believe.
