I have done this same thing before on the way home from Bonham. Especially if I don't have to work. From Bonham to the house is 20 ish miles, however if I take FM 1396 through Lamasco and then turn onto FM 273 through Telephone, I can turn a 20 mile drive into roughly a 40 mile drive lol.

Imo, just be sure to keep up with the maintenance of it, drive it, enjoy it and if you decide to build it up a little. Do it in your own unique style. Mine is about due for its next 5,000 mile service interval at Quick Lane.

I like it, and I would drive it. One like that in velocity blue with 4wd and a towing package is what I'm looking at as a replacement for the current truck. After I've gotten the good out of this one first lol.
