  1. Rain Sense Wipers

I turned my RSW on after a year of not knowing the truck had them. After a few rain events I turned them off because the system is erratic. Even on the lowest setting in a very mild mist/rain, they start out working fine with an occasional wipe, but randomly they would increase frequency and...
  2. Driving lights: attach to high beams or not?

To the original question, I don't always want additional fogs/lightbar/ditch lights with my high beams so I have all mine switched independently.
  3. Best Car Wheel Theft Deterrent Lug Nut?

Add 5 sets of McGard 64015 black lugs nuts and I've spent $360 since opening this thread..... Thanks Dave!
  4. Best Car Wheel Theft Deterrent Lug Nut?

Great video, noice find! Those advance wheel locks are pretty good. I've never bothered with traditional locks because they are so easily defeated. Most wheel thieves know all the tricks and have the basic cheats, not often an unprepared thief or crime of opportunity. Add $29 for shipping to...
  5. Driving lights: attach to high beams or not?

Absolutely. We all break traffic laws. Sometimes without knowing it is a law, some because we don't agree with the law, some because we know the law and agree it should be law, but justify it because "I'm in a rush, so I'm going to do it this one time" or because "I'm a better driver than most...
  6. Driving lights: attach to high beams or not?

Sure, but I have a question. Of course you don't have to answer, and have a great day if so. How do you define off road only lights? Is it lumens (which didn't have a universal rating system last I checked), light colour, mounting position, light/reflector size and shape, light pattern (spot...
  7. Driving lights: attach to high beams or not?

Yes I understand 2 x 7" lights, that doesn't make them off-road lights, no matter how many times you repeat it. Where does it say they are aimed any different than highbeams? Coming over a hill alters the attitude of the vehicle, so how they are aimed is irrelevant, and you will still get a...
  8. Washboarded Roads

Sure, no fix is all encompassing, and your speed should always match the driving conditions. Corrugations are generally defined by vehicle speeds that created them, so don't often randomly change unless road conditions do. If you are on a 10 mile dead straight & flat road, they will often stay...
  9. Driving lights: attach to high beams or not?

"We're"? The thread is discussing auxiliary lighting, you are the first to decide the subject is off-road lights. Capitalizing it, doesn't change that auxiliary lighting is not just for off-road. That some don't know, care, or have the ability to control their higher intensity lighting...
  10. Washboarded Roads

On top of lowered air pressure, increasing speed can sync the rebound rate to the frequency of the corrugations so you skim along the tops smoothly.
  11. Bed Debris Maintenance

Power washer, car wash brush, broom, leaf blower, or air line?
  12. Driving lights: attach to high beams or not?

Auxiliary lighting is not just for off-road. I have bumper mounted yellow fog lights (in driving light pattern) that are for on road driving. High beams should only be on when no others drivers are subject to the light, so aux lighting coming on simultaneously shouldn't be an issue.
  13. Payload Stickers

2020 Lariat super crew FX4, black pack, tow pack & tech pack.
  14. ***Update Pg. 26*** Think It'll Buff Out?

That sucks Dave, glad you're okay.
  15. Spacers and ball joint wear

Anytime you move the tire farther out from the center of the vehicle you are going to increase load on the ball joint. Whether it will be enough to increase wear on the ball joints is dependent on how far out and how aggressively you drive (cornering and braking in particular). Higher tire...
  16. Hmmer H1 X3

Did someone say their Ranger is too small? How about a Hummer H1 X3? The small Hummer up front is a full size H1, LMAO.
  17. What did I do wrong?

Although the Ranger is unlock-able while the fob is in the truck, using the app or keypad over-rides that feature and allows it to be locked in. The Ranger isn't the same as many Fords which are hard wired to the vehicle in the factory. The Ranger is wireless and battery operated. They have a...
  18. How low can you go?

I've had Ranger, F150, and Escape all well beyond 0 miles remaining. The Escape went 70km past 0 without running out a few times.
  19. Basic recovery gear/skills

There are a variety of off-road land anchor designs available, for various conditions. I don't own one, but lots of YT videos showing various options and levels of success.
