the tint going on the windshield isn't making it darker, the film is there to block heat and uv. as far as legal... dot says the windshield can not drop below 70%.
go to a custom vinyl guy. they can design whatever ya want. print/cut/install. the guy here pulls your truck up on the pc and designs what ya want, and ya get to see what it looks like beforehand.
i did the same as Randy. works great for heat and uv. the only down side is I wear polarized sunglasses and when i look thru tint i see these small rainbow areas like things.
as far as the law goes, DOT says the windshield cannot be below 70% total. most modern cars already have a little tint...
Phil - not sure which reg, didn't find it in a search. basing it off the articles that talk about high ethanol gas stating that vehicles pre 2013 need to check the manufacturers specs to make sure the fuel system hardware doesn't contain parts that could be damaged by the ethanol....seals...
My FRS was setup to run any mixture of 91 octane - E85. There was a gauge that monitored the ethanol level and the tune adjusted on the fly. when using 91 octane I got 30 mpg and good hp & tq with a super charger. On E85 I only got 20 mpg but a 50 hp 50 tq boost... it was mental how different...
So I have been looking through the forum, searching google.........
I'm looking at the icon stage 2 and want to run 285/70 R17 tires. the problem is finding wheels.
I like this look:
but need an offset around 24 and back spacing < 6"
anyone found something similar?
unless your neighbors have a truck, nerf bars or rock sliders block most door dings. car wash when ya fill up covers most everything else. for the inside, a high end uv/heat blocking tint is great. they make a 70% that doesn't darken the windows and it can be put on the windshield.
