wait, is this a symptom of the transmission? because my truck just started doing this in like the last month. i had my portable toolbox in my passenger seat to go help my brother work on his motorcycle. sitting at a light i could hear all the tools/bits in the box rattling because of the...
good question. i'm not sure. honestly, if they found the issue and corrected it i'd be elated. i'd happily fork over the $150 or whatever it is. weird situation to be in. pay $150 that solves the problem and i'm happy, or pay $150 to not solve the problem and i'm irritated. no idea which one...
i'll add in my own experience:
i hate to say it, but the "quirks" my 2019 has had since i bought it used at 22k miles are becoming more consistent.
after i had a trailer brake controller installed and i did some spark plugs, the truck went through its calibration/learning mode. what followed...
i can't confirm anything for you, but i can tell you that the driveshaft angle was something that several of us ran into on these 2019+ rangers. i'm not sure if it improved over the years, but i have driveline vibration when i let off the gas at highway speeds. it's very subtle.
i say that just...
geez, all these stories in addition to OP's are a good reminder to myself of why i keep my ranger.
bought it for what is now dirt cheap in 2020 and i can afford to pay extra into my retirement. i'm only about 9 years in to my 30 year tour with my job. i got a waaaays to go before i can collect...
I use Apple CarPlay regularly. Definitely get the “I can barely hear you” comments from folks on the other side of the call. I noticed the microphone for the call is above the drivers head. Odd spot. So now when I talk on the phone I lean to the side and try to talk towards the ceiling of the...
Went in for routine maintenance at my local dealer. My 2019 was on its factory brake fluid so I had it flushed in addition to the usual oil and tire rotation. I think it was @Frenchy who said in another thread to me that flushing the fluid and ABS sensor would fix the mushy brake pedal.
HO LEE...
Alright I went and picked up the Craftsman at a local ACE Hardware for $119. I’ll admit, I was a bit surprised by this thing. I didn’t realize how many little thoughtful things were features on this vacuum. Many of them to cut down on clutter.
Performance-wise it definitely does above average...
Happy 4th of July and Independence Day everyone!
Huge shout out to all those who are serving or have served this nation! Y’all make this all possible.
oooh i had a recent experience with this. had just over a cubic yard of mulch in the bed of my ranger. at about 60mph any kind of input on the steering wheel made the truck behave like a dirt bike at that speed. the slightest input and it was wiggle city.
so i went down a detailing rabbit hole on reddit. found a lot of recommendations for a vacmaster beast VFB511B0201 (insane model name) that were attributed to the crazy high amount of power/suction the vacuum is able to get (consistent with your comment, steve). this led me to a youtube channel...
does anyone have a particular vacuum they recommend for interior detailing? i started looking for something battery powered, like a makita, but all of them seemed to be one piece units that didn't have a hose. Almost like a dust-buster from the 90s. That's all well and good, but something I need...
i got a chance to drive a loaded up nissan titan pro-4x this past month. man that thing is a sweet truck to drive. loooove love that v8. the interior layout is a little quirky, and the capability numbers are lower than the competition. that said, it was probably more than enough truck for the...
yeeeeep. Tho I have seen other stuff that basically has proven the “untradeable” instances are exceedingly rare. My local Toyota dealer (my wife has a 4Runner) was telling me they sent all their used 22s and 23s to auction. They can’t sell them with an open recall and they don’t want to sit on...
truthfully the intent behind me even creating this thread was to point out, as has been done many times on this forum, that there is no greener pasture. everyone has issues. people can debate impact and frequency until they're blue in the face, but i just look out at the market/competition and...
That’ll be the case for most.
Really im just shocked to see these developments on the Tacoma. Particularly that the driveline on a Toyota isn’t strong enough to handle the hybrid powertrain with a manual transmission since the engineers can’t tune out the stress a driver may input. They can...
Our 5th gens may have their share of issues, but at least we’re well into the development curve.
New 6th Gen Rangers have typical first year woes. The GM twins sound like they’ve stumbled upon their fair share of issues.
And now this with the Tacoma…
That video does a great deep dive on a...
Car Dealership Guy is covering this story on Twitter as well. Sounds like CDK might be paying the ransom. I think the fear is this could be a protracted affair if they don’t:
Admittedly, several of his posts are auto industry people who are just afraid. The worst case scenario is the best at...
The 5 foot bed on the ranger becomes a limiting factor in several different areas. I have b*tched and moaned about it on several threads here over the years i've been a member. I wish Ford would've provided a crew cab long bed option, but i suspect they worry about their F150 sales if they do...
