So I got the required miles and took our new setup for a shakedown cruise. I was very impressed with every aspect of the trial run.
We went out in the early morning before any windy conditions popped up. I wanted to get a feel for things in a neutral environment. I have many years and miles of...
Just a follow up to my original post. After sending off an email stating my thoughts on this "deal"...
I received a check today for $1000.
Case closed.
Should have had my glasses on when I measured!! Actual measurement is more like 64 inches. Found a great toolbox, in stock, at my local Tractor Supply. Thanks for all the
New Ranger owner here. Almost the first thing I noticed when the delivery person was showing me all the features was no shift indicator down by the shifter even with all the letters there. My malibu has a lighted gear indicator by the shifter so I've kinda gotten used to seeing it.
My question...
I'm looking for suggestions for a cross bed toolbox for my Ranger. So far my searching only seems to find 60 inch and wider sizes. My measurement is closer to 54 inches.
TIA for any advice
Grumpaw made a suggestion that's worth following up on. Join some RV specific message boards. IRV2 is one I have been a member of for years and there's loads of good information to be had.
I think it would be interesting if you pose your towing question on that message board.
Be sure to have...
FWIW... I towed a very similar TT for 8 years behind both a RAM 3/4 ton diesel (5 years) and a Chevy Silverado 2500 HD (3 years). Never had a "I can't tell it's back there" moment. Had a good WDH with sway control (Fastway E2) but felt I had the setup needed to be comfortable .
We have since...
Thank you, guys. Matched the gauges and got those factory pigtails extended. Waiting on delivery of brake control to finish the job. I'm glad I did not hand this off to someone else. Soldered the connections with a double layer of heat shrink.
We are still only 150 miles on the odo. Need 1000 to start towing. Got the Blue Ox hitch set up yesterday. Hope to get my trailer brake controller installed soon. I will comment later on mileage, etc.
This is a view of my new Ranger sitting in front of the Winnebago we will tow with it. The white with black accents looks great with the Winnie. Trailer weighs 3500 lbs and I love that it has two axles with 16 inch wheels.
I Apologize for being so long-winded with my OP. The point I wanted to make is ... If you are due a $2000 rebate, don't let a slick dealer scam it away.
That being said, I love my new Ranger and no matter what, I'm a happy camper.
Thanks to all for the thoughtful replies.
So back in August I ordered a new Ranger. A couple months later the deal was canceled by Ford and rolled into a 2022 order. No further information received after the notice. Not knowing when, if ever, my new truck would be available, I started a search for a truck as close to my needs as I could...
The install manual for my Blue Ox Trackpro WDH specifically says to disable any sway control feature the tow vehicle has.
Our travel trailer is about 20 feet long and 3500 pounds with a tongue weight of 400 lbs. I have towed it all over with a 2500 Silverado without a WDH. No problems at all...
I'm in the final stages. Ordered in mid-August, got a VIN,etc., Ford cancelled the order in October and put me in a 2022, no update or VIN so I started looking for what was available. Finally got an angle on a new 2021 due to be delivered at a dealer 9 miles away (not the dealer I had ordered...
My experience is similar. Ordered super cab in August, got a VIN and build date est., last week of October informed by Ford my order for a 2021 was canceled and changed to a 2022. So far no further information available.
At this point I'm not holding my breath. Spending a little money on my old...
Ordered 2021 Ranger on August 18. Got a VIN within two weeks. Dealer called me in October said my order had been bumped to a 2022. Got a nice email from Ford confirming the 2022 order on 10/29 and have not heard a word since.
I have contacted the dealer a couple times and so far he has not...
