  1. 22 months totally dead battery

Been wanting one of my own for some time now. Just ordered 3 - one for me and each of my grown kids....
  2. 22 months totally dead battery

I'm reminded of the cons of ethanol production and the mis guided policy of blending ethanol into motor fuels, except in national emergencies....
  3. 22 months totally dead battery

I first became acquainted with these (HD-Commercial version) when AAA showed up for a boost after a co worker's jumper cables failed to start my previous Ranger. These modern battery boosters really rock!
  4. 22 months totally dead battery

Too many parts are thrown at vehicles by incompetent mechanics. I've had good luck with automotive/powersports batteries overall, especially after practicing a bit of 'diagnostics'. Only extremely rare, 5g Ranger 'special editions' have the following: (special thanks to Msfitoy).
  5. 22 months totally dead battery

I'm having issues of late also. Auto-Stall stays turned off, but something tells me it's not the battery in my case. Has never failed to start but I, too, get the 'low battery' warning even with a fully charged battery and the charger still connected. Others have mentioned a potential...
  6. First Post - Introducing my Ranger

Welcome to the forum! A bit ambitious are you? Good for you. Welcome to 'The Club'!
  7. 22 months totally dead battery

I will always test the battery myself before going to the shop. Why? To test their credibility and to (hopefully) stop a potential 'parts cannon'.
  8. 22 months totally dead battery

My 2005 Mustang GT had the battery right up against the firewall on the passenger side. 3 years max, fail like clockwork, until I upgraded to the largest recommended battery (Ford specd 4 batteries for the Mustang that year depending on the motor and options). The final battery was in at 5...
  9. 22 months totally dead battery

Hard to tell if the battery croaked if it wasn't fully charged then load tested? Love the high tech battery boosters so much that jumper cables are a last resort for me....
  10. Lariat - Factory LED Headlights - Reliability

I love my LED headlamps. Laser is the latest technology - high end european cars offer them - american vehicles? My 2020 Chrysler 300 has the standard halogen projectors - decent. Optional are self leveling HID projectors. The 'cool factor' is watching them rise and fall during the initial...
  11. PowerStep Electric Running Boards

Dang! Next, it will be a James Bond Special with ejection seats, flame throwers, machine guns, etc.
  12. New Ranger, Poor Mileage so far...

Oh goodness yes! I open it at every opportunity except during rain and extreme temps, then I use the 'vent' position. Nearly every 4 wheel vehicle we've owned beginning with our first new car, a 1985 Chrysler LeBaron GTS (pop up) has had a moonroof. We had a pop up moonroof installed in...
  13. New Ranger, Poor Mileage so far...

I have pegged 32 mpg for an instant average on trips according to the trip computer. Don't recall my last trip average, but my normal averages at fill up time are always around 21.8 or so MPG - mostly urban with some rural highway always thrown in. That's using 93 E0 and the FRPP tune.
  14. SYNC 3.4.21194 Update

    Interesting setup for sure....
  15. SYNC 3.4.21194 Update

On my first update I was able to use my 2A - 10A charger without running the motor for the SYNC/Map updates. Not so this last time. Kept going into 'low power mode' and shutting off. Ended up idling Lariat to complete the update. A sign of battery health? 41+ months 'in service'.
  16. New Ranger, Poor Mileage so far...

My father's family is from Shamrock, TX. Small town, a number of people with the same last name are buried there. Always thought he was from either Oklahoma or the Dallas area. Found out after my retirement he was from Shamrock after getting copies of his death certificate and my birth...
