I was able to get mine installed this morning. Mine is a 23 lariat 4x4, built March 21, 2023. Here are all the tools I used, plus my hands lol. Fitment was excellent! The harness running at the top behind the tube looks taught, but actually has some give. The A/C line was close, but I was able...
Hi Phil,
I thought you had a hand in creating it! It’s a November 97 build, 98. So early in the run! We’re the second owners. It’s the ice cream getter mostly! Never spend a night outside or driven in salt.
My father-in-law and I both purchased 23s on April 14 at 6:00, 800 miles apart. My lariat was ordered in January and built on March 21st. He purchased his XLT off of the lot and it was built March 17th. Well this week he traveled down and the two Rangers met for the first time. Kinda neat ?
I would check and see if an OEM is still available. If so, that’d be your best bet for reliability. I would also check your inertia switch and its connector for melting due to high resistance in the fuel pump. It’s in the passenger foot well.
I feel clear may discolor over time, but not being too visible when installed it shouldn’t matter much. Whichever holds up better to being exposed to heat for years takes my vote.
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and Motorcraft filter. Been using this combo for years on various Fords in my family and never had an issue related to lubrication or lack of?.
Installed Bilstein 4600s on my 23 FX4. I have the fronts to do in the coming weeks. So far there’s less “movement” over bumps and dips in the road, but I feel more small road imperfections. I may air down to what the door sticker is at 35 psi vs 40 which I’m running now. I feel they were worth...
Here’s my 23 Lariat in front of my 05 Town Car I sold to my father in law who lives out of state, the month before the Ranger was built. We had a family get together, so I had to snap a pic of the two of them! The Town Car was my daily for five years, one previous owner. I would have kept it...
