The quality of name-brand oil is very high. The trade off of having a sensor versus "best practice" predictions isn't worth the extra cost in my opinion. MB likes to over-engineer. It's what's expected of them.
I just crossed 1 year as a Ranger owner and the truck said it was time for an oil change. I took it in a couple of weeks ago with a bit over 2,900 miles on the clock. The algorithm must have a 1 year trigger if the miles are really low.
Yeah, but it adds 1,000 horsepower so all those other things don't matter ?
Good to see a bit of humor added to this thread. The engine cover debate is becoming a lot like the tailgate damper debate. Our tribalism is showing.
My tribe: pro-damper, engine cover agnostic.
Currently, a vehicle has a dealer price and MSRP (i.e., list price). I would expect buying direct from Ford will be close to what dealers pay now plus whatever fee the agency gets. This means that the agency needs to have low overhead with just be an office somewhere instead of multiple acres...
Agreed! I wonder what it would cost at a junk yard. It's been a long time but I always enjoyed walking the yard and pulling parts. Can only imagine the liability that would involve now.
I met one of the Zaino brothers in 1996 at the F-Body Gathering that year. I thought he was a snake oil salesman but after 30 minutes, I was hooked. I bought Zano for years after that. It was a great product.
