Well folks, I’ve officially jumped ship from a 2020 Iconic Silver XLT (16K Miles) to a 2019 Saber Lariat (20K Miles). By going back a model year, I got close to an even trade, and in the process I gained the Lariat with 501A package, FX4, Trailer Tow package, Bed Utility package, Sport package...
Ranger was my surprise second choice. I had an appointment to see a 2WD Frontier V6 (had a 2006 Nismo frontier that had 140K miles, ran great but the chassis was starting to rust badly). I saw a 2wd XLT/Sport Ranger at a local dealer on the way. I never considered the Ranger, but I figured...
Phil-
As a relative newcomer to this forum, I enjoy reading your backstories and insights.
Thanks for sharing your memories with us all!
Happy Birthday and all the Best!
Fords window stickers are not very descriptive. Here is a 302a Sticker from a 2019 XLT:
No mention of heated seats on the 2019, but the truck certainly has them.
Here is the Ford website description of the 302a package for 2022 as of today:
I think you'll have heated seats as Rick mentioned.
Yes, missed that one...They were deleted on XLT & Lariat non FX2 4x2 models in 2021. XL never had them on 4x2 as far as I know. I'll update the list!
Typo, thanks for the input. I believe it was removed in MY22.
Updated list attached.
Thanks! I was shocked to see the number of things that were "cost reduced". I really believe these things should be added as improvement and not eliminated over time.
I created a table to keep the eliminated features all in one place. Seems cost cutting grew as the model years went on to the dismay of owners, while the bean counters are now happier.
My dealer had already added the Line-X spray-in bed liner to the vehicle on the lot before it was purchased. Saved me the trouble of doing this after purchase. I'm happy with it and no issues.
I've noticed that too, however the 2022 order guide still lists the locking diff as a free standing option across the board:

May want to contact your dealer and ask about this, as you...
My local dealer already has the Blue/Gold Advantage plans in place, and has for a while. Their current Gold Advantage plan offers a 4 day/200 mile money-back guarantee--the 14 day/1000 mile version sounds much more practical. No money-back guarantee on their current Blue Advantage Plan. Plan...
As already stated, the factory tow package only consists of the trailer hitch and the connector sleeve for 7 pin or 4 pin trailer wiring. There are no other changes. For towing more than 1650 lbs, you need to add a brake controller. The Ford recommended TBC supports adaptive cruise control...
For those looking to add the OEM hitch, I just purchased the Trailer Tow Kit Accessory (KB3Z-19D520-A). This kit includes the parts Simon mentioned above, and the bumper/tow hitch appears to be the same exact rating as the KB3Z-17D826-F. The kit cost ($278.46 from Tasca Parts) was less than...
